Vizcaino signed for 2007

VizcainoThe well-traveled Luis Vizcaino has avoided arbitration and signed a $3 million deal for 2007.

He was only Yankee eligible for arbitration. Josh Phelps lost that right when he was selected in the Rule 5 draft.

Vizcaino will be one of the “6-7-8″ guys for Joe Torre along with Scott Proctor, Mike Myers, Kyle Farnsworth and others.

    Hey Pete,

I’m digging the new home. Looking forward to the transcripts and A/V stuff. Keep rocking in this free world.

I think the combination of no news and the new site means few folks are finding you. I’ll admit I missed that link the first ten times I visited the old blog. Maybe put the link in a new post?

    Otherwise, any word on Cox?

Took me a while to get here, but I am liking the new look a lot.

    Hey Pete

    Very nice.

With the acquisition of Vizcaino – is the bullpen full? Say Villone says, “no one is offering a two-yr, so I would like to come back to the Yanks at a One-yr.” Does Cash take it or leave him? What makes sense here? I can’t see Cash Money spinning anyone in the pen to another team for a position player…?

    Peter,

Like the new look. Looking forward to the extras you mentioned.

I like the new look – bigger page; a little easier to read. Regarding the bullpen – if Cash has a chance to sign Villone to one year, I bet he does it. Villone had a rough second half mostly due to his heavy work load. Keep him to a few innings a week and he will probably be pretty effective. I also suspect he was pitching hurt and didn’t say anything.
I know the numbers right now seems to indicate there is no room for him, but it is early and everyone is healthy – especially in January. Give it time and let the all of the scenarios emerge. Cashman might just trade an arm or two for some draft picks or the ubiquitous PTBNL.

As I said as one of the last comments on the old blog, I like Vizciano because of his durability. With the way Torre (ab)uses his bull-pen arms and the uncertainty and the back-end of our rotation, it’s no luxury to have a guy who is used to a heavy workload.

    Sunny615:

I hope that they let Villone walk. He’s cooked and there is no room for him.

Get the registration aspect going again before the trolls reappear.

Gonzalez to Atlanta. Do they spin him to the Yanks?

like the new sights on the site.
although the links and everything on the right is disproportionate to the blog entries…
    … will that be changed/fixed/resolved?
I’m sure it’s just a kink in the new armor.

    looks good, Peter.
