If you’re a reader from Taiwan – and I know there are a few of you out there – here is some news you might find interesting:
There’s a book coming out on Chien-Ming Wang.
Sam Borden, Mark Feinsand and I wrote “Ace in America” and it’s due out in March or April in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The book details Wang’s career and specifically his success last season when he won 19 games.
Our agent is searching for a U.S. publisher and we’re hopeful that there will be an English version before too long. Wang seems to have a lot of fans no matter where the Yankees play and his story is certainly compelling.
Having never written a book before, the process was an interesting one. Sam and Mark were great to work with. Sam is now a columnist at the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville . Mark is the Yankees beat writer at The Daily News, having replaced Sam.
There are 28 million folks in Taiwan, so we’re hopeful of making a few dollars. But even if we don’t, the experience was worthwhile.
I’ll keep you posted on the U.S. version. But if you can read Chinese, please consider picking one up.
