His agent, Randy Hendricks, told the AP that Cox broke his hand when he was involved in an “altercation.”

Didn’t he watch Bull Durham? You never punch a guy with your pitching hand.

Oh geez…. you beat me to the punch, asburyboss. I immediately thought “Two words…Brien Taylor…”

I guess the rumors that he’s not a very nice dude may be true…

yeah because only “not very nice dudes” get into fights

Disappointing news. We don’t know what happened — he may have been defending himself — but he has to be smarter than this. He’s very close to being called up (this year or next), so he has to put his career above most else. If it means walking away from an A-hole asking to get his clock cleaned, then fine.

And what Peter said: if you’re going to hit a guy, don’t throw it with the arm that will make you a millionaire.

Hey, he’s a Texan. I moved to Texas about 6 years ago, and that’s what they do. Get a few beers in ‘em, and they can whip anyone’s ass. I’m not trying to be funny about this. This is, seriously, the way it is.

Hopefully he can learn Karate from Igawa or Godziller since kicks to the groin are much more effective.

At least he did it during the off season and not in Sept in a pennant race ahem Kevin Brown.

if he would’ve only watched “The Karate Kid…”
… he would’ve realized that he should have sweeped the leg, not thrown a punch.

    geez.
does even the POTENTIAL to make obscene amounts of money cloud your judgement that much? I don’t care how much self-control one claims NOT to have… why wouldn’t there be a trigger that’s pulled at some point going, “if I ball this hand up into a fist and throw it… I could do some damage.”

defending himself? Again, get out of there. That’s the best resolution. If not, again… sweep the leg. Crane kick the guy. Whatever. Don’t whip punches, putting into jeopardy your greatest investment.

No kidding! Such a simple thing…
