Sorry for the lack of posts today. I had Lasik eye surgery this morning and I’m still recovering.
So far so good, I guess. My vision seems to be improving, although working on the computer is a challenge. That would be a problem, so hopefully it clears up.
Not much to report with the Yankees. Roger Clemens will be speaking in Manhattan tomorrow and if I can make my way to the train station, I plan to go and hear what the Rocket has to say.
Don’t forget, individual game tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Way to take one for the team Peter and blog AFTER your surgery. You sure are a trooper.
I hope there are enough opening day tickets available for little ol me. I also hope that you are able to see this post within the next few days =)

What’s Clemens speaking about tomorrow? Speaking as in a press conference or a motivational type thing?
While you were gone: Bonds and Sosa are now pretty much members of their respective teams and Curt Schilling wants to continue playing baseball. Hell knows no boundaries.
Also, the Helton deal wen’t south after Boston got greedy. Heard from rotoworld that they wouldn’t rule out continue talks again once spring training starts up.
Hey Peter, I’m an avid fan of the blog from Costa Rica, currently in the Canary Islands. I had eye surgery some years back, and even though I truly enjoy your blog, you should lay off the computer for at least a couple of days. Not redeaing new entries from you would suck, but health comes first. Recover well and don´t force the eyes, donñt use the computer till you are comfortable man.
I hope they didn’t replace your eyes with cybernetic implants with which the government can watch your every move.
The Rockies have announced that trade talks involving Helton to the Sox have ended.
Clemens is a keynote speaker for St. John’s University’s sports program and will be at the New York Athletic Club. (I am an alumna and got an e-mail about this event a couple of weeks ago.)
Pete, make sure you ask the Rocket if he plans on returning that snazzy yellow Hummer should he come back to the Bombers this season… I mean, it was a gift for his retirement and all

Anyone have experience getting tickets tomorrow? Like, do you have to go to the stadium to get opening day and the Mets games?

Just close your eyes and rest them. Dictate your next blog entry to your personal assistant and let him/her post it.
The entry from yesterday about the surgery upcoming disappeared.

I had the same procedure done a couple of years ago. I’m waiting for the headline, “Study Shows Lasik Surgery Leads to Blindness After 10 Years”.
Also, what’s the over/under on Clemens saying the following:
“I haven’t decided if I’m going to pitch yet..blah, blah, blah….I’m not in baseball shape….blah, blah, blah…I love my family….blah, blah, blah….”
I’m not so sure boys and girls…YES announced that the Yankees will be making a MAJOR announcement at 10:00 AM (televised on the YES Network). With Clemens in town and that word…one wonders.
Considering everyone’s been on the other side of the world I doubt any serious negotiations could’ve been completed with Clemens recently.

Get well soon. I read that Little Steven was at the SAG awards tonight, and that he didn’t look well. Jayson Stark said that he thinks it’s 60/30/10 as far as whether Rocket plays for the Yankees, Astros or Red Sox this year, so it looks good for the Pinstripers
Antony, they’re officially announcing the Yankee Stadium will be hosting the 2008 All-Star Game. I forget which sports news show I saw it on but that’s what it is.

I would take any odds on CLemens with a grain of salt. These writers dont have any clue or inside knowledge.
so i was shut out of opening day, but my friend got seats on the top of the George Washington Bridge for Game 2, which i’m thinking will be andy’s first game back in pinstripes… cant wait!
No-one really knows what Clemens is going to do since he himself has supposedly not made any decisions… but we keep wondering so people/media keep speculating because it’s something to do until the games start….. that’s just how the off-season rolls and how Yankee news hungry fans like us feed the hunger. What else would you read about when you get bored in the office, the Knicks……??

What If the Redsox won the World Series this year, and Terry Francona will manage the All Star Game next year and pick his players to play in yankees stadium? Francona Didn’t pick Jeter and choose Arod instead? Does it bother you as a Yankees fan that Francona will be seated in Yankees dugout where Joe torre always sitted and manage? Also Ortiz will be sitting his fat ass in Yankees homedugout

Last time I checked, not a single report claims to have any knowledge that as to what Clemens will do, just people giving their opinions and reporting the comments he or his agent makes here and there.
Time wasted? absolutely, that’s my point. Yet…… you’re on these blogs just like everyone else. You don’t want to hear every angle, every guess, every opinion, go back to your comic books and turn off ESPN.
