Greetings from Tampa

After a remarkably stress-free trip, I’m here in Tampa. Not to rub it in, but it’s 66 and headed to 74 according to my Mac weather widget. And, yes, that palm tree is outside my window.

Got here too late to see the morning workout at the minor-league complex. But I’ll catch that tomorrow morning before we have our meeting with Joe Torre in the afternoon.

Not much else to report. Heard that the Blue Jays are interested in Ron Villone. The Yankees will get a draft pick in compensation once he signs with somebody.

Thanks for keeping up with the blog all winter. I had fun on my end. Now that the season is here, we’re hoping to really take it up a notch with audio clips of interviews, web-only stories and other features.

If there is anything you want to see, please e-mail me.

I’ll check back in later.
