103- pitch session for Dice-K, compares to Igawa’s throwing only 40 pitches. How come the Yankees especiallly don’t let pitchers to throw more pitches. Yankees are being careful and being babied with pitchers. . The more pitchers throw, let their arms be loosen and they get better and get in shape right away.

I guess don’t Yankees don’t follow Johnny Sain pitching philosophy – Let their Pitchers throw .

Yanks pitchers have had 4 sessions, they’re coming along properly. The Sox aren’t the standard by which franchise success is measured. The Yanks are. Let’s Dice-K throw a simulated start at the beginning for camp. Maybe he’s lose some of that gut he showed up with.

Yeah, all that early work from the Sox pitchers really helped them last year when they all either broke down or were ineffective the final two months of the season.

Its a LONG year. You overthrow pitchers now, you play catch up later.

I am glad I am not the only one who thought Dice-K looked a tad “pudgy”. He’s small compared to Schilling (who looks HUGE in ST), but still overweight, IMO.

In the 50′s…in the 50′s what? Oh man, I was hanging on for that one. By the way, if I haven’t said it yet, great work Pete. A consistently informative and enjoyable blog you’ve got here.

Let Dice-K burn out his arm by throwing all those pitches early.

    You work your way up.

From the time when I was a kid, arm problems happened EARLY because you didn’t work your way up to the level you need.

Also, aren’t our seasons here considerably longer than Japan? Hope he’s burnt out by Mid-July…

Who cares what Bawstin pitchers do! We are concerned with OUR pitchers down in Tampa!

The best part of the Torre audio was letting everyone know that Yogi’s clubs had arrived. For those that listen diligently it was a great part of an earlier excerpt from last week.

Yes, Gayle — I caught that, too! (And, sad to say, I am glad the question got asked and answered.)

That is some funny stuff about Yogi’s clubs. I caught that too! Pete, as always GREAT WORK!!
