Today’s schedule at Legends Field

Peter Abraham
February
25

The relief pitchers will throw their final BP today at noon. The lineup:

Field 1
Rivera
Vizcaino
Farnsworth
Proctor
Myers
Henn
Kozlowski
Beam

Field 2
Villone
Sanchez
Kennard
Veras
Britton
Bean
Whelan

A few tidbits: Johnny Damon has an excused absence again today but is expected back tomorrow. … Carl Pavano came in with his left foot wrapped and said it was sore last night. This is obviously a legit injury, but is amazing how things keep happening to this guy. … Brian Bruney (sore back) is not pitching today.

Don Mattingly owns a company that manufactures bats. Mainly for kids, but also for pros. His reps are visiting all the teams trying to sell the bats and they visited the Yankees today. This happens pretty much every day with different companies.

They had the bats leaning against a sawhorse in the middle of the clubhouse next to a laundry bin. Todd Pratt threw some soiled clothes in that direction and hit the bats instead of the bin. Like dominoes, the bats all clattered to the ground.

“Nice job, Pratt!” yelled Mike Myers.

Everybody cracked up.

“I hope I don’t get cut,” Pratt said.

  1. Damon taking a short leave at River Ave. Blues

[...] Not a big big deal (hence the aside), but Johnny Damon is taking a few days off for personal reasons. Pete Abraham notes that Damon is expected back tomorrow. [...]

“Carl Pavano came in with his left foot wrapped and said it was sore last night.”

    So… August?

  3. Scooter

    Pete -
Did Sanchez throw today as scheduled? How was that forearm tightness?
