The problem with Pavano isn't that the guy gets injured. You can't fault him for that. It's that he seems to take a few months longer on average than any other player with a similar injury would take to recover. It gets to the point where the injury becomes more of an excuse than a hindrance, and it's ridiculous.

I dont understand some of these post's yyou say you want him to pitch through the injury tough it out, but if my memory serves me correctly you persecuted him for not reporting his injury to his rib cage as he tried to play through that. Lets say hypothetically he comes back and does pitch hurt and hurts himself worse i bet you guys would be on him again, you guys just dont make sense. I can understand your frustrations with the guy but your arguments dont make much sense. Plus its spring training I rather him go out now and let this heal and play during the season. Lets all calm down and see what happens before we try to sell him down the river.

[...] And wouldn’t you know it, the Rajah of Rehab is at it again. This time, he was the unfortunate recipient of a line drive off the bat of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales during batting practice. While Brian Cashman says it’s just a bone bruise, LoHud’s Peter Abraham noted that bone bruises often take 18 months to heel (Just kidding). [...]

Call me crazy but I think this injury was good for him. Now people can think/see that he is cursed rather than just trying to rob the Yankees. As for this injury though, its like im a kid waiting outside BestBuy for the PS3. The longer the wait, the crazier I get. I really wanna see this guy on the mound pitching so I hope he will be back right when they start in March and the games are televised. That gives him about a week, assuming he doesn't pitch until the first couple ST games.

All I'm saying on the subject is that if there is a thunder/lightening storm nearby I am NOT standing next to Pavano!

It's a legitimate injury but also minor enough for a resilient athlete to play through. Do I think he's really injured? Of course, but that doesn't mean he should sit out the rest of spring training which is what will probably happen. I hope ices it, takes a couple days off and then mans up for once in his life.
