Panic over as Yogis score

Peter Abraham
February
27

At last, our long national nightmare is over. Derek Jeter singled to center off Chase Wright in the fourth. Jeter then went to third when Alex Rodriguez singled to center. A-Rod took second on an bobble by Brett Gardner in center.

A-Rod and Jeter then hugged and sang “Just The Two Of Us” over the PA system. Everybody was crying. “No question, this is wonderful,” Joe Torre said.

(OK, I made that part up).

Ben Davis, in the game for Posada, drilled a sac fly to the base of the wall in center to drive in Jeter.

It’s 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth and all the regulars (except Minky and Melky) are out.

I’m sure, as “Just The Two Of Us” segwayed into “O What A Beautiful Morning”… with all of the forest animals coming into Legends, surrounding the two infielders…

… the love that was shared between player and fan was immeasurable.

(sorry. Peter’s vision just reminded me of a scene from “Fletch Lives.”)

Are you sure they didn’t sing “That’s What Friends Are For”?

    Thanks for the belly-laugh!

What were you’re impressions of future Cy Young winner Igawan and Karstens?

Nice touch Peter but the only song I want to hear them sing is “We are the Champions”.

They’ll get a hug from me on that one.

Darn it Pete, I almost cracked out laughing in my office. My office mate would have been completely confused.
