Carl Pavano pitched two innings yesterday. Quick, trade him.

Jeff Karstens continues to pitch well. This notebrook also contains news about Kei Igawa and Joe Torre avoiding what could have been a disaster.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Post Dispatch found out what A-Rod’s problem is. It’s the media, of course.

“It was very easy in Seattle,” Rodriguez said. “In Seattle, it was like I was (Albert) Pujols. I could mess up so bad and somehow they’d write it beautifully, like I did a great thing.”

“I would say some of the stupidest things,” Rodriguez continued. “I’ve always been a goofy talker. I’m not really the smartest guy in the world or whatever, but I’ve always said the same things and been rewarded for it. Here you say the same thing and you get crucified.”

Well, I personally vow to write “beautifully” whenever A-Rod messes up. Perhaps that will help him.
