A few tidbits from Joe Torre (with audio)

Peter Abraham

We talked to the skipper in the dugout before the game. He updated us on a few injuries. Bobby Abreu is getting close to swinging a bat, perhaps by the weekend. Brian Bruney threw 25 pitches in the bullpen today. Todd Pratt is a day or two away from playing.

No word on when Andy Phillips will return to camp.

Here is the audio from Joe:

Jason Giambi will play first base tomorrow when the Yankees play the Braves at Disney. There will be no DH for the game. “Time to let the Big G loose,” he said.

Saw Bubba Crosby in the Reds’ clubhouse. He was sporting long hair and a scruffy beard and had nothing but good things to say about his time with the Yankees.

and he throws live BP at Houston Astros camp… right now it means nothing more than he’s watching his ol’ buddy Andy Pettitte throw the pearl while he’s in town.

he throws live BP to his son. Lets see if he hits up a redsox ST game. If not, I think hes coming to NY.

  5. Rick (Columbus)

    Crosby is such a coward.

Oh, please. That article in the Cincy Post was completed misinterpreted. Bubba never ripped Torre or the Yanks. He did not change his tune or back down. He never said what you seem to think he said.
