Hmm… they must be gving Bubba they day of to rest in the pursuit if his .425, 45 HR, 125 RBI, 75 SB season. Smart move.

  2. Jeteupthemiddle

I did a couple of community projections on my blog (Melky, Pavano, Igawa) and decided today that with all the talk about Hughes (since his appearance yesterday)a projection for him could be fun.

If anyone wants to participate, please feel free.

  3. Go NYR

Wait I thought the reds would treat Bubba with respect considering his 3 career homeruns. You know if he were an everyday player he might have 5 or 6 homers

  4. beavis

pete please! keep up posted with any more hilarious bubba crosby quotes

  5. Annie Savoy

Can’t wait to see Andy tonight.

  6. kasey

is it me or is johnny damon getting an awful lot in the way of days off so far this spring?

  7. jennifer

auhhh Red Light Curt is at it again http://www.38pitches.com/ Anyone else i wouldn’t really bat an eye at it, but since it is curt it is quite comical.

  8. Steve

Why are the yankees playing the MLB roster every game? Other teams don’t do that.

  9. Justin

I’m probably Josh Hamilton’s biggest fan, I’m loving watching him mash this spring and hope he makes the big show.

  10. KAnst

Steve, I noticed that. It seems like the Yanks play their starters a lot more but they also dont have as many split squad games. Those two are probably related. It also seems like our starters go less innings than other teams.

  11. Rick

    Is Homer Bailey pitching tonight?

  12. Daniel

    Rick,

    He is not.

  13. BubbaFan

Aw, give Bubba a break. He did not rip the Yankees. He enjoyed his time in NY and was honored to play for Torre. Yes, he said that. It was cut out of the article, though.

Bubba was not complaining about how he was treated in NY. He was talking about the difference between the AL and NL, that’s all. A fifth OFer in the NL, especially with the Reds, is going to get a lot more at-bats than a fifth outfielder on an AL team.

And FWIW…the Reds have been using Bubba mostly in the DH/PH role lately. He’s been doing pretty well, too.
