Sturtze still loves the skipper

5341.jpgA few of the New York writers went over to the Atlanta clubhouse to visit with RHP Tanyon Sturtze.

He signed a guaranteed deal with the Braves despite having had shoulder surgery last spring. He will start the season on the disabled list but hopes to pitch by May.

Sturtze was a Yankee from 2004-06 and had some good stretches as a Joe Torre favorite before getting worn out.

One of writers kiddingly asked Sturtze if he would say something controversial so we would have something juicy to write.

“Are you kidding me? I’m trying to get Torre to adopt me,” he said.
