Listening to “Where the Streets Have No Name” by U2. What a great song.
Watched Bobby Abreu take some soft toss in the batting cage an hour ago. He was swinging easy, which is what you would expect. He took 25 swings and said afterward that he felt good.
“I feel a lot better right now, I just have to get it stronger,” said Abreu, who has a pulled muscle on the right side of his rib cage.
Chamber of Commerce day here in Tampa. Blue skies, nice breeze and 79 degrees. The Wanger, Mo and Phil Franchise pitching. Can’t beat it.
I’ve been working on my Mandarin with a few reporters from Taiwan. I learned how to say, “How are you?” It sounds like “nee how ma.” I dropped it on Wang this morning and he started laughing. He replied back in Chinese. Hopefully he said. “Fine, you are you?” and not “Get away from me, you idiot.”
Frequent blog contributer Jay Gordon was watching batting practice and said hello. He’s here with his wife and seems to be having a heck of a time. My uncle Ed from Massachusetts is also in the house and had the guts to wear a Red Sox cap.
If you’re watching at home, enjoy the game. Back later with a report and some audio.
