Interesting posts....maybe Peter can enlighten us on the comment about better food and bigger lockers.

I once read that the Yankees are the one organization in all of baseball that didn't skimp on minor league expenses. The idea (I think it was called the "Yankee Way") was to make sure the minor leaguers had fresh uniforms, and no hand-me-downs with stitches and patches. They also used new baseballs every day, and all the foul lines were perfect and fresh and straight. The intention was to let the kids know that being in the Yankees organization was first class from top to bottom.

That would tell me, if true, that the food and the lockers at minor league camp are not so bad, right....?

Did Tabata's performance this year show any signs we'll see him in the bigs sometime next year (or dare I say even as a September call-up?) or is he still a couple years away?

They sent down Alberto Gonzalez? He was supposed to be our attorney general (although maybe not for much longer). If only the US government could send him down to the minors.

Tabata is 18. Born in August of 1988. He will probably start at Tampa (High A).

Alex: I think Jay is right about your confusion, and BTW, Rasner has had a pretty good ST.

Gayle: Kid gets another day of good food, a big locker and the nice bullpen. Plus, yes, Guidry doesn't want to shag over across the street.
