Another day, another meeting
The workout will get started a little later today at Legends Field as the Yankees will have their annual meeting with the Major League Baseball Players Association.
The Yankees have about one meeting a week. There’s a security meeting, some MLB-approved charities get a crack at them, there’s a meeting about performance-enhancing drugs, etc.
Can you imagine that meeting? “Anybody have any questions? Jason? Anybody?”
They even have a meeting about the media. For the first time this season we were invited in, just so everybody would know who the beat writers were. Fortunately, nobody threw anything at us.
We’ll get in the clubhouse at 2, the meeting is at 3 and they’ll be on the field around 4. Game time is at 7:15.
Back later with the lineups.

I see tonight’s game is going to be on YES. Anyone know why they don’t do the ST games in High Definition (and I’ve only caught one ST game on TV, so if they do some in HD, correct me if I’m wrong…..)? I’m ignorant to the technical requirements of doing so.. but doesn’t it just mean better cameras?
So much improvement over standard definition, especially for sporting events.
‘Can you imagine that meeting? “Andybody have any questions? Jason? Anybody?â€?’
OMG People at work probably think I am crazy, I can’t stop cracking up at that one.
You think he cracks jokes at the end like, “TRUST ME guys, it’s not worth it….”
(which of course, is apparently contradicted by his massive frame and massive contract…..)
In other news…….Gary Sheffield a no show in Tigers camp today. Away for at least a week on “unspecified personal business”, according to ESPN Radio.

Giambi is my fantasy first baseman this year, so I don’t care what he does so long as he hits 30+ homers and has a .400 OBP. Err, yeah, that will also help my real life team, too. Go Yankees.
What? Moral gray areas are cool.
So when Clemens ultimately gets caught using performance enhancing drugs…. he can just blame it on not having the opportunity to attend this meeting, right Pete??
Chris, on the HD, I’m sure it’s better cameras and probably some broadcasting eqpt too. I guess it’s a question of the value of moving the equipment vs ratings for just a s.t. game.
Just realized the Nets were on TNT tonight. No Marv Albert. But i guess being able to flip back and forth is better than falling asleep on the delayed game, like I did on Monday night…
