Here are a few notes for you as we wait for the game to start:

* It’s raining here and the game time has been pushed back until 1:30. I’ll believe that when I see it.

* Bobby Abreu will (or already has) take live BP in the indoor cage back at Legends Field. Look for his first game back to be next Thursday, March 22. The Yankees will wait until after the off day.

* Darrell Rasner will start a AAA game tomorrow. With Andy Pettitte (5 innings) and Carl Pavano (4 innings) splitting the Major League game, Scott Proctor and Chris Britton will pitch in a minor-league game.

* Joe Torre was asked before the game whether there was a chance Bernie Williams could perhaps join the Yankees during the season. “That would be a very, very long shot,” he said. Bernie, meanwhile. has yet to return any of Joe calls.

* Mike Mussina said he had a “very good” bullpen yesterday.

* Finally, in the best news of the day, Andy Phillips’ mom was released from the hospital and went home.
