Larry Bowa was hitting grounders to Derek Jeter before the game and the shortstop was working on flipping the ball to Robbie Cano at second.
Jeter was feeding the ball as fast as he could and Cano was making quick throws to first. It was fun to watch. They kept on asking for more grounders, as fast as Bowa could hit them.
Bowa then hit a grounder that Jeter flipped behind his back. Cano bare-handed the ball, hopped on one foot over the bag and fired to first.
As they laughed, Bowa dropped his fungo bat on the ground, flung his arms in the air and turned his back. “That’s it!” he yelled.
“C’mon, Bowa,” Cano yelled. “A few more.” Jeter was doubled over laughing.
A scene like that reminds you that it’s a game and it should be fun. Jeter and Cano are great like that.
