Mike from Matsuzaka Watch:

Judging from your blog, you clearly cannot stop GUSHING about Matsuzaka being the baseball equivalent of Roger Federer, how can we trust your overly optimistic opinion of him???

I say Wang is the BEST Asian import, NOT Dice-K.

So can someone tell me why does it take 104 pitches for Matsuzaka to get through 5-innings against the Reds (who are not AL East hitters)? if his breaking balls are sharp and heaters are hard and he has pinpoint control? where do all the pitches go? did he just purposely wasting 3 pitches on every guy he faced?

Sadly there is no chance that Igawa and Dice-K are comparable. Both their games were going on simultaneously yesterday it was crystal clear Dice-K had far better stuff. His breaking balls were sharp and his heater was hard. All i saw of Igawa was slow stuff left up in the zone that AL east hitters will be crushing by late april. Yanks should have gone after Dice-K harder
