I'm not sure what kind of pitcher Rasner is, but this pattern sometimes shows up in a finesse pitcher who doesn't have the velocity to compensate when his location is off. I seem to recall Andy Pettitte having this problem his first few seasons (before he started training with Clemens). Through 2006, AFL and this Spring, Rasner has kept up a consistent pattern of 3 strong starts followed by an implosion.
