Yankees take a lead in the seventh

No doubt inspired by the lofty goals of Project 13, Alex Rodriguez homered tonight. Robinson Cano also had a dinger.

But the real heroes were Kevin Reese (RBI single) and Kevin Thompson (two-run single) as they broke the game open in the seventh.

No real news today. Joe Torre told us before the game that everything would be revealed tomorrow. Based on the available evidence, it appears Josh Phelps and Wil Nieves have spots. Brian Bruney appears to be a lock.

The Villone-Henn matchup is too close to call. Keep in mind that Henn has been a reliever only since last July.

We’re going to the eighth with the Yankees up 5-2.
