I’m confused. They held Mussina back one day (he was supposed to pitch yesterday). Now they are holding him off again so he is pitching Thursday instead of Wednesday. But they didn’t want to mess with his schedule.

Am I missing something?

Yup, Carl Pavano pitching the opener, season must be over before it starts. Might as well break up the whole team, fire the manager, trade Phil Hughes. OH, and commit hari kari as well.

Based upon his spring, I am actually expecting Carl to pitch decently on Monday. A quality start.

Exactly Ryan. Pavano is starting b/c it would have been stupid to mess up the rotation for one game — not b/c we don’t have solid pitchers. Now that Papelbon is closing, I for one feel that the rotations are closer than people give us credit for — particularly if Mr. Hughes pays us a mid-season visit.

Pete – seems quiet on the blog today. Didn’t you hope we would here from all the experts who have been ripping Joe about his decision to pick Philips and Villone for the roster. What?
