A few final notes from Legends Field today:
RHP Brian Bruney is on the club despite getting rocked today. … No word on any decision from Ron Villone. That will probably come tomorrow. … Jeff Karstens and Chien-Ming Wang will stay back in Tampa to work out. Their stays on the DL will be backdated. Karstens can return April 10, Wang as early as April 7. The expectation is that Wang will be ready around April 21 or so.

i think it has to do with players who’ve had major league time. they can only be “optioned” to the minors a number of times before they have to be released/put on waivers…
