Wrapping up Opening Day

You have to love Yankee Stadium. A-Rod gets booed twice in the first inning and a curtain call in the eighth.

“It was like the stock market,” he said.

Damon said he was fine, just cramped up. He felt it in the first inning. Same thing happened early last year.

Yankees bullpen today: 4.2 2 0 0 0 5

Rays bullpen today: 3 6 4 4 0 0

No postgame audio from the manager. Joe does his postgame in his office and there were roughly 732 people in there. I couldn’t really get close enough to get anything clean.

I will try and post some audio from Bobby Murcer and perhaps Jason Giambi later on.

Giambi said being out there with the Lidle family was one of the toughest things he’s ever had to do. He was a high school teammate of Lidle and they were good friends. Not to be too dramatic, but what a job by Christopher Lidle throwing that ball to the plate. Tough spot for a 7-year-old.

On a personal note, thanks to everybody for participating in this. We had over 300 comments today and I just learned that we had 536,600 hits on the blog in March. We’re over 1.7 million in 13 months, which seems pretty insane to me.

Send any suggestions along. It’s great that so many people were on during the game.
