These are all guys who were thought to possibly be starting a level higher, so it's not just a reaction to the hot starts they've got off to. Brett Gardner, for example, was at the fan cavalcade or whatever they called it for SWB... Jackson was thought to be starting in Tampa, and after Tabata raked in the big league camp it seemed like they might skip him up.

Its only be a few games, and already you've got all these guys getting promoted? Way to quick. These guys could just as easilygo into a slump and then what? I do think Gardner will earn a mid season promotion to Triple A, maybe around the end of June. As for Tabata, I'd say if he is still dominating in mid June, then move him to Double A. He is bound to suffer some growing pains along the way, so I'd wait. Jackson should probably spend most of the year at Charleston. He strikes out way to much, and needs to be able to recognize certain pitches better.

In the case of weather, the home team decides whether or not to play the game. Once the game has started, the umpires are in control of calling the game or not. I am sure there is consultation with the MLB offices, but ultimately it is the home teams decision to start the games.

Phil you are absolutely correct w/ all of that , Tabata was set to move up the system quick at 18 !!! the only problem was he got his wrist hurt and they had to shut him down for the rest of the season , NYY fans don't know about this kid but dammit when I went to Tampa the kid I saw he will be the best talented prospect out of the Yankees system sincce Soriano and yup right now this kid is better than Jeter and his upside is off the charts.

do you think that if the yankees "decided" to postpone these games, they would not be played as home games later in the season? and don't you think the yankees lost a ton of money on walk up ticket sales and lost concession sales from fans who left early or didn't show up at all?

"But, we all know they love the $$$ in the Bronx. That it put their bullpen on fumes this early in the year and got 2/3 of their OF hurt means nothing. They got the gate receipts for 5 of the 6 games."

the yankees don't make that decision.

so please stop talking out of your ....

Jeff A. Actually, last June (I believe) the first time they were gonna promote one of the Kevins, they also promoted Sardinha, Gardner and Tabata, but when one of the pitchers got hurt they recinded the promotions and brought up Colter Bean instead. They were gonna promote Tabata to Tampa anyway last year, but as you know he got hurt.

I do not think the Yanks control if the game is played...

DOn't MLB have control over that??/

ESPN always say stupid things, if the Yanks starters go on a roll they will say something different.. It is a long season..

I wasn't talking down to you I just responded to what IO thought was a flawed statement. Maybe you worded it wrong but if you know about the minors you know that one guy moving up in AAA has absolutely nothing to do with other top players moving as well. And Tabata IMO wont be rushed most likely I think he will spend most of the year in Tampa.

Doreen -
You beat me to it. I kept waiting for Jae Seo, and then Trachsel and Bedard to pitch poorly. I guess our starting pitchers are in a slump. Thank goodness for our bullpen. Hope they pull out of it soon - like tomorrow.
