Matsui placed on disabled list
Joe Torre said that Hideki Matsui has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. No word yet on who is coming up. Scranton was postponed today, so no indication from their game.
Presumably it’ll be Kevin Reese or Kevin Thompson.
Bernie’s decision to decline their invitation to camp keeps getting worse for him. It’s too late now.

I hope it’s KT that comes up.
I think this was the best thing to do. Hamstrings are tricky and we can’t afford to have him out for an extended period of time or have this hinder his performance all year long. Kevin Thompson is most likely to get called up.
do you guys notice what Houston have been done so far this season? If clement will pitch this season,he is moving much closer to Yankees or Boston now.
Its a good thing we won’t have to face Santana this upcoming series. He was lights out today.
I think Clemens will be a Yankee come late May/early June. I’ve thought that since the beginning and if our starting pitching continues to perform like garbage, he’s the best solution.
…but its too early to think about Clemens,
why yankees always get the slow start and get hotter when weather is hotter?Sometimes,it’s painful for fans, including me,of course.
I am with you,Melissa NY
It’s amazing how great Santana is.Thank God,we don’t have to face him.
I know it’s early to think Clement now.Just a though through my mind.
Clemens was here in Lexington for his son Koby’s opening day game last week – and I missed it!!! LOL
Interesting – Koby’s sally League team is having a Roger Clemens figurine giveaway night in June. You can bet I won’t miss that game.
I don’t think it’s too early to be thinking about Clemens, but he’ll stay silent for quite a bit longer, since it’s still only early April.
Oh, and I think we’ll see KT come up for the time being. Regardless of whether or not he has anything left in the tank, Bernie did indeed make a bad decision to not show up at camp. Joe would have had him on the roster now, whether Yankee fans liked it or not.
One more thing, don’t get me wrong. In my opinion, they will be fine without clement.I believe they will be better next time around rotation.I think Clement is the answer for October if we get there, not the answer for regular season.Of course, we have to get to post season first.I don’t take this for granted. It’s not easy to get to post season.
If and when Clemens returns to the Yankees, he will bolster our regular season pitching staff as he prepares himself for the postseason. We can make it to the postseason without him but pitching (and defense) wins championships. While we can rely on our offense to win regular season games, that will not be the case in the postseason as we will be up against, presumably, the best pitching in the league… but that goes without saying.
How come everyone seems to think that Clemens will save the entire season? The last I heard, it takes more than 1 quality starter to have a championship team. This Yankees team seems to have maybe 1 (Wang), and a bunch of question marks (Mussina, Pettitte — over the hill??; Pavano –???; Rasner?????, Igawa — ?????), etc.
Thems that said this team will finish 3rd are looking good right now….

Who has a better rotation in the AL East based on career track records?
