Mike Mussina walked out of the clubhouse last night wearing an Indiana Jones-style hat. Baseball players being baseball players, he got a lot of grief from his teammates.
The Moose picked the hat up on a lark during an afternoon trip to the mall with his buddy, bullpen catcher Mike Borzello. It turns out he likes it.
“Hey, it’s Pennsylvania Jones,” said the ever-witty Ty Kepner of the Times.
“I hate snakes,” Mussina said. “Isn’t that the line from the movie?”
are those hats becoming popular or something?
Jason Kidd did a post game interview recently while wearing basically what’s in that picture up there…
I now like Moose even more.
“We named the dog Indiana!”
Crazy Moose.
Hopefully the hat wasn’t the only thing he was wearing.
Maybe the hat was Mussina’s subtle way of showing support for Don Imus. j/k

Moose is always human. He has the best sense of humor on the team.
so what your saying pete is that moose will go undefeated against everyone accept the diamond backs?
He also hates low run support and losing perfect games with two outs in the ninth.

i definitely think he’s the funniest interview, intentionally or not. this is my favorite moose quote ever, on People Qualities Most Admired: “I don’t know, I don’t think I ever really analyzed what my favorite qualities in other people were, besides honesty, being real, being who they are and not trying to be somebody that they’re not.”
That Moose… just another guy from Pa. trying to “keep it real.” Hey, as long as he gives us wins, and lots of starts, he can wear anything on his head he likes.
Moose goes from nerd to fashion plate. It just shows what a new contract will do for you.
I’m sure he looks quite dapper in it.
