Mussina leaves game in third inning

Mike Mussina just left the game after throwing a pitch to Luis Castillo in the top of the third.

After Ron Guidry came to the mound, Joe Torre and trainer Gene Monahan followed. After a brief conference, Mussina walked off.

I’ll update this post as information becomes available.

Mussina had been fairly pitching well, throwing 18 of his 36 pitches for strikes.

There’s no score. Sean Henn inherits runners on first and second and no outs.
