Change of pace in the bullpen

Couple of tidits for those still awake:

Joe Torre talked about the meeting he had with Kyle Farnsworth before the game. It was about getting ahead. Obviously he didn’t do that today.

Look for Farnsworth to be used in the seventh inning, especially in tied games on the road when Mo won’t be used in the ninth. Joe said several times that he thinks Farnsworth is tough enough to get through his problems. But it’s obvious they want Vizcaino in the eighth inning.

If they can trade Farnsworth, they should. He has a 4.86 ERA as a Yankee. There’s a market for relief pitchers. Use Vizcaino, Proctor and Bruney behind Rivera.

Kei Igawa, much to his credit, said he wanted to pitch much better and wasn’t satisfied. Torre was enthused about how he pitched, saying how he threw all his stuff for strikes and was much better composed on the mound.

Go to bed. I’ll catch you all tomorrow. Well, it is tomorrow. So later on.
