Pretty sad that your season hinges on the performance of a rookie pitcher with exactly three starts above A-ball, and a 42-year old who 1) Is not signed; 2) Has not decided if he still wants to play; and 3) Hasn’t pitched in the AL in three years.

Calling Wright today is just a terrible mistake. Like Mike A. said, Chase Wright is not the answer. If you think he is, then I hope the simplicity of calling him up because heâ€™s lined up to start Tuesday and is already on the 40-man roster comforts you when he gets his brains beat in. In short, he isn’t ready for the big league and this call up may derail his progress and eventually his career as a starter.

Remember the last time we had a 24 year old left handed starter in a groove in AA, but then called him up? At the time, he was a potential big-time lefty. He got destroyed in the big league, and fell back to his previous habits.

Chill out, people. Everyone hated our starting rotation to start the season anyway. Now you’ll get to see the kids. Chase Wright is a good pitcher. He hasn’t had much experience at the upper levels, which is a concern, but he’ll be fine. I don’t like calling up Britton — he’s not good (despite what his avid supporters say) — but I guess they’re still down on T.J. Beam.

Wang is on his way back. That’s the important thing. Even if Pavano never makes it back (and he will, people, seriously) then Wright can potentially stick around, Kartsens is back soon, and Clippard, Hughes and maybe even Clemens can fill in later on. These things always happen and everyone pulls their hair out, and then they work themselves out.

Well, we have Sean Henn, Karstens, Rasner and of course Wang in the past few, I would expect more of the upcoming group to contribute. We also got Bobby Abreau with Matt Smith. So much for the weak Yankee farm.
