Just to apologize--the 4 HRs in the Dodger game last September came off two different pitchers, so Pete's initial comment was right (also, Nomar didn't hit one of those four that tied the game, but I think he hit one in extra innings to win). I always admit it when I'm wrong.

That's the difference between a rookie and a veteran. When Randy Johnson gave up four home runs in one inning to the White Sox in 2005, he at least broke up the streak by putting some guys on base in between.

I am glad to see that I was not that only way who reacted that way to the four home runs. One, I kind of laughed about it (those home runs reminded me of the movie Major League....that ball wouldn't have been out of a lot of parks....name one....Yellowstone) and two, it was a little easier to handle in April.

I have no idea if Wright will never have another shot with the Yanks, but he seems to have a lot of movement and seems to carry himself well. I swear I saw him crack a smile in the middle of that stretch. Sure you like a p*ssed off Roger Clemens, but you also want a kid who won't put his head down and mope. Some guys try to be like Clemens and put on a show....this kid seemed to appreciate he has had a tight strike zone, is still struggling with his control, and needs some more time to work on it. I am in his corner....

Pat M,

No idea, I thought leftys were harder to steal from because they are facing the runner on first and can move quicker and keep an eye on him easier.

Foytack was the last American League pitcher to give up four. The Dodgers hit four in a row last year. Now, J.D. Drew was on the last two teams to do it.

I'd just like Jon Miller to shut up now about the 4 in a row. he hasn't let more than a few minutes pass without talking about it.
Morgan made a comment about a lefty being slower to the plate than a righty (and hence easier to steal off of). Anybody know why?

Yes, bad luck for Wright. If you threw the ball up their underhanded most ballclubs would not be able to hit 4 home runs in a row. There's a reason why almost no team has ever hit 4 hr in a row....do you really think that those were 4 of the worst pitches ever thrown in a row? It was bad luck for Wright that one of them didn't get popped up for the 3rd out of the inning.
