why shouldn't Arod make the money he makes, baseball is big business and he's if not the best, then he's top two. Jeter makes over 20 mill, and god bless him he's great for us but he ain't really a 20 mill player.

Is Torre even paying attention?

First of all why PH Damon for Phelps instead of Melky? Then he replaces Melky in CF - with Damon. WTF?

I would rather look at ugly, old Randy Johnson for the rest of my life than see Vizcaino pitch. He sucks, whoever said they saw him pitch a lot for the Brewers and he was garbage, hit the nail on the head

Watching Torre manage this bullpen each night is painful.

He just needs to cease the endless pitching changes and let some of these guys sink or swim.

I'd love to hear what the pitchers say about him out there in the bullpen.

I'm not pushing the panic button b/c the offense is going to carry this team into contention but this isn't a very good team.

No 1st baseman
2nd/SS/3rd solid for years to come
LF Matsui has a garbage arm and needs to stay healthy
CF I can throw better than Damon
RF Solid but no contract
Bullpen Besides MO one of the worst of the potential contenders
Starters
Moose: Sucks, he is old and done for, you guys can hope but he is a league average pitcher and would be #5 on the Sox
Pettite: Solid for this year, maybe
Igawa: Garbage, we didn't have a 88 MPH junkball thrower in the minors????
Pavano: Enough said
Wang: Hope last year wasn't a mirage but he isn't a #1
Don't talk about the minor league system b/c most of you guys don't realize how few minor leaguers make it in the bigs. Hughes may be a #1 but the next best pitcher in our system will be lucky to be a #4 or 5 on a championship team. This isn't Willis, Beckett, Pavano, Penny, Burnett coming up in our system

Why would he want to stay with the Yankees? For this?

Face it, he is gone after this year.

Enjoy him for this season and be ready for SERIOUS rebuilding after this year.

This ia an awful baseball team.

He sucks because he is a good at what he does.

I agree with you, players have a right to get paid, if anyone is dumb enough to pay 252 million, way more than the next guy, by all means take it.

In fact I look at Andruw Jones this year and I feel sorry for him. He already turned down millions to give the Braves a home town discount.

Now the Braves will want the same this year. Why should he loose out on money and not get paid just because the Braves won't pony up?

It would be great for a player like him to finish his career for his original team, but no one in Atlanta or anywhere should hold it against him if he opts to go elsewhere (which he should, he deserves it and is one heck of a player).

I'm all for the players getting paid if there is someone out there willing to pay it.

I just wish Boras would think "hmm... let him remain a Yankee get paid his 81 million, then when the contract ends we can get an evn bigger boatload of cash with a more inflated market, ARod nearing 700 and closing in on Aaron and Bonds, after all who wouldn't pay to have those chases on their team?"

Specially Steinbrenner loving history and all.
