Jeter says he will play tomorrow

Sorrry about the lack of posts but the internet access here has been very spotty.

Derek Jeter said he had a bruise but expects to play tomorrow night. … Chien-Ming Wang threw 81 pitches, one over the limit they had set for him. He was obviously very good and didn’t deserve the loss. … Mike Myers had gotten Carl Crawford to pop to third on Monday night. Crawford was 4 for 21 against him before that grand slam. Myers made no excuses, saying he left a slider up. “That’s his job,” Torre said.

That’s five losses in a row for the Yankees for the first time since May 28-June 3, 2005.

“We’re going through a bad streak right now and we just need to turn it around. Nobody’s going to help us; we have to do it ourselves,” Torre said. “There’s no shortcut. This is where you really test your mettle here. This is the tough part about playing our game. This is where you earn your money. We have to turn this thing around.â€?
