The Yankees lost again last night and the Joe Torre Watch is underway.

Mike Mussina rejoins the rotation next week after a successful simulated game. Wonder if the Yankees lost that one, too? This notebook also has an update on Bloody Sockgate.

Daisuke Matsuzaka wasn’t great but he was a winner in his first start in the Bronx.

Just got done updating some stats. A few tidbits:

Mariano Rivera has allowed nine earned runs. He allowed his ninth earned on on June 17 last season.

Scott Proctor has a 7.86 ERA in 25 career appearances against the Red Sox.

The Yankees have gone 20 innings without an extra-base hit. They’re 17 of 96 in the last three games (.177) with eight runs scored.

Alex Rodriguez is 1 of his last 10 and hasn’t had an RBI in three games. Of course somebody has to get on base to get driven in and Bobby Abreu if 2 of his last 26.
