Wakefield hangs in, but he’s no Igawa

Tim Wakefield has put nine men on base in five innings and allowed only two runs. Of the seven runners the Yankees have left on base, five have been in scoring position.

There is a reason the guy has hung around as long as he has. He hangs in, eats innings and gets his share of wins thanks to good run support.

If you’re Joe Torre, you have to hang with Kei Igawa at this point. This like watching Daniel LaRusso in the All-Valley Karate Championship.
