In case you missed it yesterday, the blog will have an exclusive reader Q&A with Jason Giambi at the end of the week.
You’re invited to e-mail in one question. I’ll pick the best 10 (and maybe a few extras) to ask Jason. Then I’ll post the answers and the audio.
I have received 208 questions so far. Most of them have been asking why he doesn’t hit to all fields like he did in Oakland. The other popular question is where he likes to party in Vegas.
Meanwhile, let me share this with you.
Sweeny Murti of WFAN, who does a great job, was walking around the clubhouse on Saturday with his microphone trying to get some interviews recorded. Giambi stopped and a few of us asked him questions.
Here is how it went:
Sweeny: “What were you thinking when you saw Jeff Karstens get hit by that line drive?”
Giambi: “Ah, * * * *
The rest of us laughed. Obviously Sweeny can’t get that on the air.
Sweeny tries again: “OK, so what were you thinking when you saw that?”
Giambi: “No, really. * * * *.”
Just hilarious. Giambi should come with “don’t try this at home” stamped across his forehead. Yes, he’s a big cheating goon (in a nice way) and what he did was wrong. But in a sport that has more than its share of pretentious dopes, Giambi is refreshing.
