The blog will be a little quiet this morning as I am hopping a flight to Texas.
Brian Cashman is with the Yankees on this trip, supposedly to help figure it all out. There’s a great baseball term for this. The players call it “eyewash.” It means false hustle or a gesture that really doesn’t mean anything.
The best way Cash can help the Yankees in Texas would be to fly to Houston with a giant bag of money to give to Roger Clemens. Pacing around the stadium in Arlington won’t help the Yankees win. But such is life in a big media market. It looks good.
Can’t say I like the Lone Star State much outside of Austin. But being there is a good excuse to listen to Joe Ely and The Flatlanders.
Catch you later with the lineups and some updates from Joe Torre, who’s still in charge. It’ll be Phil Franchise against Kameron Loe.
