Chance for a sweep

All things considered, handing a two-run lead to Mariano Rivera with a chance to sweep is pretty good.

Now that Hideki Matsui is heating up, it’ll be interesting if Joe Torre sticks with Bobby Abreu (4 of his last 47) hitting third. Alex Rodriguez has gone eight games without an RBI and 29 straight at-bats without a home run. Without Abreu on base, teams can pitch much more carefully to A-Rod.

If they hold on, that’s 10 straight against Texas on the road and an 18-5 record against the Rangers going back to the 2005 season.
