“I got a bad feeling about this”

That Wang-Weaver matchup should be an easy win.. why oh why do I have that eerie feeling that Weaver’s going to shut down the Yanks. His 10.00 ERA and all… I feel like we’re going to get him on his one good day of the season. It’s just a feeling that’s all… hope I’m wrong

    Pete,
Don’t you imagine that they’ll be sending down Sunday’s starter before activating Monday’s starter? I’m assuming Bean will go back to Scranton before Sunday’s game but I would have thought DeSalvo would start Sunday & Rasner Monday and then Rasner would stick around. Do you think they’re planning on sending Rasner back to Scranton before Monday’s game or is there another roster move you think they’ll make?

at least that scored a run. What’s up with Matsui? As for Abreu, do you think that injury’s bothering him?

    Man,

I was really hoping for DeSalvo on Sunday and Clippard on Monday. They’d be on normal rest. Oh well…I pray our boys pitch well, nonetheless.

Andy needs to give us some innings here.

    gettin’ squeezed!

    What’s Bobby’s injury?

Awful start so far from Pettitte. Three more walks (that’s 7 in his last 3 full innings of work), getting beat by a .169 hitter, and completely unable to put hitters away.

Giving back runs the half inning after they score, the real downfall of the entire pitching staff for years.

If they can’t get innings out of Andy, they are in real trouble.

You wonder if those relief appearances have come back to haunt him. Hasn’t looked like the same pitcher his last two starts, after those appearances.

I asked Keith Law about Matt DeSalvo during his webchat this afternoon. Here is the exchange:

Jesse G. (Bourne, MA): Come on please answer my question about Matt DeSalvo. He is starting on Monday. What are your expectations for that start and for him in the future?

Keith Law: Fringe stuff guy who has succeded by working out of the strike zone a bit and getting minor league hitters to chase. I’m not sanguine.

We should be able to hit three of those four starters Seattle is throwing against us. Washburn has good numbers against us, so I don’t know about that matchup.
