Super fight? Not so much

Floyd Mayweather won a split decision against Oscar De La Hoya tonight. But other than the last round, it was not a very exciting fight for a casual fight fan.
No knockdowns and nothing close to a knockdown. Mayweather was too elusive for De La Hoya to hit flush. Mayweather is a great athlete and has incredibly fast hands. But he couldn’t bruise an apple.
The best part of the pay-per-view were the interviews with Floyd Mayweather Sr., who is flat crazy.

I wasn’t completely dissapointed with the fight. But if it weren’t for Oscar De La Hoya this wouldn’t have been a fight. I have equal if not more respect for Oscar but less respect for Mayweather. For all the shit he (mayweather) talked…He sure didn’t back it up. And yes boxing is based on a point system and because Floyd connected with more accuracy I can see why he won. Big props to Oscar.
im glad all my fraternity brothers payed for this.. def wasnt worth it on my own
100% dead on Pete, boring as hell. Not 1 time did the fight even get close to exciting. Boxing is done..
actually the best part was the closeups on Mrs Oscar!!!!
What a babe!!!
mrs oscar was amazing i agree but so boring the post fight analysis by mayweather was brilliant and stimulating
Mrs. Oscar was a hottie, but did they have to keep showing her every 20 seconds? Can anyone tell me what the hell Fiddy Cent was saying as he was walking in with Mayweather? Was what he was speaking into the mic actually going over the sound system at the arena? And what’s up with Jim Lampley? I thought the dude was in the pokey for stalking.
another overhyped fight … and I think Floyd left w/ a swollen eye , this kid keeps on ducking Mosley.
Fight was a waste of money. Although it was funny to see Mayweather Sr say he though Oscar won. Personally i think Oscar should have had the title. Mayweather Jr. did nothing but 1 jab n run away. If Oscar didn’t step to him the entire fight there wouldn’t have been a fight. I think it was pathedick on Mayweather Jr. to talk himself up so much n trash talk Oscar and never once step to him in the ring after the bells rang. I think Jr. should have used is speed to more of an offense advantage then running away.
To the casual fight fan it definitely wasn’t very exciting. Not once was either figher close to knocking the other down or even putting them off balance. I guess the thing you have to remember is that Mayweather and Oscar showed up to win the fight. Mayweather did exactly what he needed to do to win and made sure not to make any mistakes that would expose him along the way. Boring fight, but smart fight by Mayweather which is hard to say seeing how much I wish he got his head knocked off.
ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Mayweather may be quicker, but all he does is counter punch. Good to win decisions, but it’s not “saving” anything. To run your mouth the way he does, you should do more than counter punch and run, counter punch and run…........ sissy.
