Andy Pettitte did his job

It’s hard to ask more out of Andy Pettitte, who held Seattle down for the most part.

Yankees also had what they wanted with Alex Rodriguez at the plate and two on. It’s safe to say that A-Rod has officially cooled off. He is 2 of last 17 and has one home run and five RBI in the last 17 games.

Jason Giambi (0 for his last 17) hasn’t been much help, either.

The Yankees will be eight games out if they don’t find a way out of this mess.
