Good thread, always good to hear about fast track number one draft picks. Imagine he gets the call next year? Seems crazy, but it happens all the time, Jered Weaver and Brandon Morrow to name two off the top of my head.

That's a good description of him Nick. He pitches a lot like Moose did when he came out of Stanford.

He throws about 91-92, not as hard as Moose did when he came out of college. However, like Moose, he has 4 pitches he can throw for strikes and has excellent command.

I saw him pitch twice this year and in one of the starts, he really got squeezed by the home plate ump, which upped his walk total.

He has excellent movement on his pitches and doesn't get rattled out there. You can tell the guy was very well coached in his career. Very cool customer.

On the White Sox Radio network- they just said rain is in the forecast until at least 1015 (east coast time)- but they are still planning on playing tonight. Tarp is still on the field. It is going to be a late night.

Kennedy's night is complete. He walked a guy in the 7th and he was lifted for Anthony Claggett (one of the pitcher acquired in the Sheffield deal) who got the final out of the inning.

6 2/3 innings of 2 hit, shutout ball. Three walks and 10 K's.

If they hold a 6-0 lead, he will go to 4-1 on the season.

His season numbers are sick:

43 IP
25 Hits
18 Walks
46 K's
1.43 ERA

The Florida State League is known as a pitchers league because of the big ballparks and the humidity, which keeps balls from flying out of the park. Even so, that's real impressive for a kid who hasn't been out of college for a full year as of yet.

Definitely a kid who can be a #2 or #3 in a major league rotation. He can really pitch. Not just a thrower.

Joba is sooooo sick, he just needs to work on his third pitch, but his fastball-slider combo is electric.

i thought the yanks AAA staff was loaded at the beginning of the year but i think i'll take the low A staff ... kennedy chamberlain marquez and dellin betances when he gets called up from extended spring training. throw in a wang hughes clippard and desalvo, wowsers the next 10 years should be fun for the yanks pitching staff.

i know that not everyone will pan out, but at the very least wang and hughes along with at one or two of those guys. that'd be amazing, a full home grown staff, with the exception of maybe santana ... ahhhh i'm getting my hopes up. (its nice to have a minor league squad to be proud of of once)
