Game will be further delayed

Peter Abraham
May

Well, it’s almost 9 p.m. and the tarp is still on the field and it’s raining again.

No word on when – or if – this game will start tonight. We will keep you posted.

UPDATE, 9:10 p.m.: They start time has now been pushed back to 10:15 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. (EDT). You can imagine our delight.

  5. daysleeper

boston red sox rigght fielder j.d. drew left the game due to an inujured back

  6. KQ

I feel like nature’s been against the Yankees as well. How many postponed games does the Yankees have already?

  7. KQ

    postponed and/or delayed

  8. R.B.

I’m sure picky Moose is as delighted as you are, P.A.

  9. elwoods

hopefully moose brought the NY times crossword to occupy him

they need to play tonight. if they don’t, DeSalvo will be in Pettitte’s spot to pitch against the both the Mets and the Sox. Pettitte would only get to pitch against the Mets and miss the Sox. that’s less than ideal.

  12. Yanksmitch

Sorry Pete– that’s got to be the downside of the reporting job. Let’s hope for a quick one, I’d be fine with DeSalvo tossing a no-no.

  13. KQ

    mussina’s pitching.

Sorry I’m late to the party but while I was killing time waiting for the game to start, I came up with 10 captions for that picture of Clemens with Connors in the golf cart posted earlier (I’m not sure any of them are funny, but I am really bored):

    1) “Darn you Connors… I told you to lay off the broccoli, cauliflower and cheese omelettes.”

    2) “Well done, Kato. You got me from my car to the pitchers’ mound in under three minutes.”

    3) “Billy, what do you think? Go for the green or lay it up and hit a second shot?”

    4) “Where is that beer girl?”

    5) “Billy, did you see where my ball landed?”

    6) “Dang! I just tore me a hamstring getting out of this here golf cart.”

    7) “What the heck am I gonna do with another $28 million dollars?”

    8) “Hang in there, Billy. The kid with the White Castle Crave Case is almost here.”

    9) “I know, I know…. I should have gone before we left the clubhouse.”

    10) “Did I leave the iron on?”

  15. JasonO

murphydog, you forgot “Mighty jabba is pleased with your bullpen session”

    Abraham, suck it up!!!

  16. KQ

    Is it still raining?

  17. murphydog

    JaysonO:

I think it was: “Mighty Jabba is pleased with your bullpen session … hey, Rocket, pull my finger.”

  18. barbados

hasn’t been raining here for at least an hour

  19. murphydog

    Tumbleweeds… crickets…. C’mon I know you’re out there…

  20. Ryan

Cubs crew saying the game has been called

  21. KQ

    barbados,
cool so that means they are def. playing…

  22. What?

    MLB.com says it’s postponed.

  23. murphydog

Postponed. Just as well. Moose and rain delays are a pretty lethal combination.
