In a short story in USA Today, Jason Giambi admitted to his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
It’s hardly a surprise. Giambi has had off-the-record conversations saying the same thing for several years now.
But it’s still interesting. I agree with Giambi’s premise that baseball needs to acknowledge what happened and move on. The Mitchell Investigation, a dog and pony show if ever there was one, will accomplish nothing.
Now that testing is in place, enforce the rules by testing often and staying on top of designer drugs. Revisiting the past won’t fix the problem.
