mussina was one of the ones who opted out of marty miller’s training. he still is in lousy shape though. he looks weak. 86 isn’t going to cut it. #

True, but if I recall correctly, Marty had a lot of the equipment removed including some of the back exercise machines (that affected Pettitte), and large rubber bands they used for stretching, so even if Moose did opt out, his routine must have been affect if only a little. And Mooses weakness currently I believe to be attributed to his body assuming it’s April – as he came of the DL about 2 weeks ago and hasn’t pitched in consecutive games longer than a few weeks.

"Why wasnt miribelli called out? he was not inside the running lane."

wondered the same thing last night. that throw would have been on point if mirabelli ran the right way

didn't cano get called out for that in the playoffs once?

i have no problem with bruney getting pulled (sure, it's easy for me to write this now. i kinda anticipated the JOE MUST GO posts when it happened last nigth though). may be able to get more use from him tonight or tomorrow. why burn the guy even more?

"Beckett is littering the field with sunflower seeds! Toss him security!"

Finally, a couple of fun nights in a row. It was only a matter of time before we put at least back to back nights of good baseball together. Hopefully it continues and we can crawl our way back into contention. Go Moose tomorrow night. Hopefully the bats stay warm and we light Tavarez up. Anyway, Peter I like posting your updates on top. Keep up the great work.

AND against the Red Sox, I wouldn't use Mo at all. They have his number and will hit well off of him. Just as the Yankees figured out Wakefield, the Red Sox figured out Mo.
Wakefield was once the Yankees Killer. Now he is a guaranteed win for the Yankees.
Save Mo for the Angels. Use Bruney, Proctor, Farnsi, DeSalvo against the Red Sox. Send Viz back to the Diamondbacks and demand a refund for broken goods.

I really don't like Moose. I like his pitching and think he is a smart pitcher, like Pedro. I just hate his little holier than thou attitude. His whole creature of habit crap.
You aren't the boss. You do as you are told. This isn't some volunteer job. You are a hired employee working on a team. It isn't the New York Mussinas' It's the New York Yankees. You have to pitch in 6 days rather than 5... DEAL WITH IT!!
It isn't a physical issue. It's a arrogant bratty mental one.
You can pitch the same with 5 days rest as you can with 6.
So go, throw your moose knuckle and STFU.

"Its time we stop hearing excuses from Moose. Step up, shut up and pitch a gem."

I totally agree....the only problem is i dont think Mr. Almost can do it If he pitches like garbage i would have no problem with the yankee clippard.

The lineup is fine.

There are problems in EVERY lineup in baseball.

Ours has the fewest problems, regarding potential to score and ability of the players. We were in a funk that we appear to be out of now. Let's sit back and enjoy the battering of Sox, Blue Jays, and Angels' pitching.

Damon? One of the best leadoffs in baseball, even with the injury. He'll pick up.

Giambi? If he gives us 30hr and 90rbi half injured, im content. Where are we going to find better reasonably? We wont.

Abreu? Its obvious he'll come around. His career shows that. He seems to be walking more and more lately.

Cano? #3 in the batting race wasnt a fluke. Didn't our own godly Derek Jeter get into a funk early on once pitchers figured him out? Cano needs to work with Long or Mattingly on his swing and he'll be back to his old self, maybe even pulling the ball a bit more.

Mientkiewicz is our weak link, but he's doing well lately. It's not like he can't hit. He'll even out around .265 and I'm content with that. 13-16 HR and 65-75 RBI from our #9. Thats better than most teams could ask for.
