— At 1 p.m, Clemens took the Thunder pitchers to the mound for a seminar. Said Brett Smith: “I was just hoping to meet him and shake his hand. To get in his head was amazing.”

— Smith was supposed to start for the Thunder but was bumped. He was thrilled because now he’ll get to chart Rocket’s pitches instead.

— Red Sox GM Theo Epstein is in attendance.

— Pitching tonight for the SeaDogs is top Red Sox prospect Clay Buchholz, a 2005 compensation pick (No. 42) from Lumberton, Texas. The pick came after losing Pedro Martinez to the Mets.
