Today in The Journal News
The Yankees needed to win their series against Boston and they did behind Andy Pettitte. Brian Heyman has the game story.
Carl Pavano will have surgery and his time with the Yankees is over. What a stunner. This notebook also has an update on Phil Franchise, word of a generous donation by the Yankees and good news for Tyler Clippard.
Jason Giambi met with MLB lawyers over his steroids comments. A suspension is possible but unlikely.
Roger Clemens wasn’t exactly brilliant for Class AA Trenton last night. But he got his work in, as Kevin Devaney reports from the great state of New Jersey.
This column by Rick Carpiniello is not on the Yankees. But check it out anyway. Al Pacino’s daughter Julie is a big-time softball player in Rockland Country and is headed for UCLA. Imagine the poor kid who takes her to the prom. He has to answer to Tony Montana.

Nomaas.org is priceless today.
Kruk: Roger not ready
http://www.nydailynews.com/spo.....ready.html
Joe Torre says it will be Roger Clemens’ decision as to when he’s ready join the Yanks, but ESPN’s John Kruk, after watching last night’s start in Trenton, says the Rocket isn’t even close.
“What we saw in Roger Clemens’ second start was his inability to command any of his pitches, couldn’t get that good downward tilt on his split,” Kruk said on ESPN last night.
“The hitters were laying off of it and when the hitters aren’t chasing that split and he had to throw his fastball, they were all over it. They did not miss the barrel of their bat on those fastballs. He couldn’t get it past the hitters, and if he’s going to pitch in the big leagues, he’s going to have to get more velocity and fine-tune that control.
“If he can do that, he’ll be ready. But right now, he is not prepared to face major-league hitters.”
Who’s the hell is John Kruk? What does He know? Is he scout or something?
Rocket wasn’t all that impressive. Specifically, with his control. I’m with Kruk when he says Roger should throw another game before coming up. Let hem throw in Scranton next.
Peter, any news of how likely and how much money the Yankees could get back on what’s left of this year and 2008 on Pavano’s contract through insurance?
Petitite’s should be 7-1 by now if not for lack of run support and bullpen blowing leads for him. Yankees bullpen already blow three games ..
No one questioning about Andy’s transition and moving back from Nl to Al?
He had 2.66 Era.
I say let the Rocket get his work in with the big club. FYI, even if he pitches Tuesday like Joe said, he would probably miss the Boston series unless they skip him over Moose. I can’t see them doing that because Moose is so fickle to begin with, skipping him will just make his performance worse.
I like Matsui. He is an old-fashioned ballplayer. He has no home run trot from home to first. He runs hard.He lets the umpires call the home runs. Big difference between Matsui and Manny ” He is being Manny” Ramirez.
Kruk-
Spoken like a true RSN Homer
Once again he’s done it. John Kruk, it is MAY 24 and already he’s saying the East is a one horse race and how Clemens won’t help us AND how we have no shot at the playoffs saying “with all the others teams they just won’t have enough”.
Wasn’t ESPN once a great unbiased network that I watched religiously as a kid. When did it turn into an Off-shoot of RSN.
And where do they fine there analysts? For pete’s sake. The majority of them, not all some are decent, but the majority were awful players. Turning to Eric “EY” Young, and John Kruk for expert analysis, I mean who were these guys as players? The biggest memory of Kruk you’ll ever have is ducking a RJ Fastball in an All Star Game and oh yeah that Nurtisystem commerical, where he proudly claims that his wife doesn’t find him “as digusting as she used to”…sheesh to be a fly on the wall at Kruk’s must have been a blast when he was a player must have be utter comedic doom towards the institution of marriage.
Kruk and Russo should own property together they’re all the same. Idiots
Hi Pete –
I am surprised that the Yankee ownership has allowed Jason Giambi become the face and voice of this team.
Surely this sends a terrible message to the kids – yes, you can do steroids as long as you get great lawyers and MLB allows you to fail several tests before you are disciplined.
Right now Jason Giambi – who is now a known steroid and ‘greenie’ abuser – is getting much more attention than anyone else on the team as he lies and gives non answers to all.
That alone tells me that George Steinbrenners hands on the reins have slipped. Otherwise Giambi would have been out of here a long time ago.
This long noted franchise is in serious trouble if it doesn’t clean up its’ team and its’ policies ASAP. The average person who had abused drugs would have been out of his job in hours. Yankees better start paying more attention to its fans and the message they are recieving by seeing Giambi still in a Yankee uniform during years of drug abuse.
Pedroia and ESPN biased announcers
Did anybody mention Pedroia’s dirty slide long before A-Rod’s. Pedroia did not even come close to touching the bag, A-Rod at least did touch it. Peter Gammons and all the Red Sox fans are crybabies. Everything is fine while they are winning, but wait and see when we catch them, they will start again “of course, but you sign all the stars and have the biggest payroll”.
ESPN is the most biased anti-Yankee network. Gammons, Stark, Olney, Sutcliffe, Kruk and Morgan should all be under Red Sox payroll. Gammons, Olney and Stark are all New Englanders; Kruk, Sutcliffe and Morgan are all envious ex-players of Yankee glory and the fact that the team never game them any thought when they were playing.
The only credible one is Tim Kurkjian. Steve Phillips is not an anti-Yankee but he is not credible.
If you are going to announce or comment on games and a sport, please hide your true colors, specially if announcing for a national broadcast network, not a local one.
From 38pitches.com:
“Throw out my inconsistency and I like our chances. Obviously we need to stay healthy, but we have a solid deep team with tremendous character and those two things are tremendously important over the course of 162 schedule. Add to that a front office that you know will fill any hole we might have come the trading deadline and you have to feel good about this team.”
He is an old, overrated retard. Who does he think he is saying that with a “consistent Schilling” he likes their chances? He seems pretty confident that if some injuries occur before the trading deadline, Theo will go out and fill the positions needed… Too bad I can’t say I feel the same with Cash Money!
Oh, yeah… He actually used the word “craptastic” in his blog entry. I apologize, but anyone who uses that word can’t be considered a ‘professional’. This guy is nothing but a scum bag.
Yankeesfan35, you also forgot CHRIS BERMAN. The cameras showed him at a Red Sox game a few days back. It’s pretty sad that he showed his true colors, even though I knew he was just another Boston fan in disguise.
More than half ESPN’s people are Sawx fans, which is why anything they say about the Yankees means nothing.
Annie Savoy:
“That alone tells me that George Steinbrenners hands on the reins have slipped. Otherwise Giambi would have been out of here a long time ago.” Another great insight, Annie.
Giambi’s came here in 2002 under a LONG TERM, NO TRADE contract. Thus, he would have to agree to a trade assuming one could be arranged.
As for arranging trades, are you suggesting that the Yankees should have gotten rid of Jason the year he arrived or the next year, 2003? How about in 2004 when he had a tumor and played accordingly. Big trade market for Jason in 2005, right? No. Then in 2005 he put up some numbers and was the Comeback Player of the Year so why would we want to trade him, and/or who wanted him after the whole steroids thing the year before? In 2006 his wrist fell apart and he had surgery – big market for him coming into 2007? Um, no. Oh and did I mention that Giambi’s LONG TERM, NO TRADE contract was arranged and agreed to by none other than George Steinbrenner himself.
There’s plenty of proof that Big Stein is slipping, but this sure isn’t part of it.
Chris Berman is Giants Fan who supports Bonds?
Who cares who Chris Berman roots for? He does some play by play but who cares? Is every announcer supposed to be 100% objective out there?
Like these guys didnt have favorite teams growing up and even now?
Dont be naive
Jason Giambi is the “Face and Voice of the Yankees”?
Did something happen overnight?
I thought Derek Jeter was the “Face and Voice of the Yankees”?
As far as Giambi, “sending a bad message to kids”, do a better job of raising your kids and don’t look to an athlete to do your job.
If parents are so concerned about their kids, then spend more time with them, be interested on their interests, and explain to them its a rough world out there. Nobody is perfect (especially professional athletes) and people make mistakes.
If parents spent more time with their kids, and less time criticizing athletes for not assisting in the raising of their kids, the world would be a much better place.
A little dose of Rocket reality from The Onion…

“That alone tells me that George Steinbrenners hands on the reins have slipped. Otherwise Giambi would have been out of here a long time ago.”
by all means, explain how this should happen.
the Yankees looked into voiding his contract in 2005, they could not. they can’t do it now.
they can’t trade him. not only does he have a NTC, but he is a “10 and 5″ guy. he can’t be traded without his consent, something his is unwilling to give.
simply cutting him and paying his $20M salary to play for another team would be an incredibly idiotic business decision.
unfortunately the whims and demands of misinformed yankee fans can’t always be carried out in the real world, where things aren’t always so black and while.
i was there in Trenton last night, and while Clemens labored a bit in the first inning, he settled in and dealt innings 2-5. Struggled a little with his secondary pitches, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with his fastball. The way Moose has been pitching, I have no doubt after watching Clemens last night that if Clemens came up and pitched next week, he would immediately give the team a better effort than Moose.
and by the way, dont look now, but Brett Myers just went down in Philly… think they’d be interested in Farnsworth, now?
Peter great post at 4:50 am.. I cannot remember each move Torre has made over the last 11 years but he is class thru and thru. Your post is accurate the barracuda reporters in NY who want to knockdown the Yanks are scary. Torre does make tactical mistakes on occasion in my book but I think he is great and classy and one of the few good guys.
Your post was so right on it is amazing
Giambi is not the face of the Yanks it is of course jeter, posada, mariano, pettite, and was bernie etc… Giambi I believe is not a bad guy but is like most of the league looking out for themselves and interested in one thing above everything else and that is of course $$$$.
I also agree who ever leaked the positive test results which may not be true is worse then what Giambi may have done. They leaked this to hurt Giambi, the Yanks, and baseball intentionally because that is illegal, why would they do it???
Let’s tone down the Torre stuff let’s agree he will be here all year and hope the team turns it around..
BTW Cano is showing some life…………Abreu still is not….
amen turntwo on the farnsworth to philly issue.
If I were the Yanks I would look into that right away.. Farnsworth can help philly and his exit from NY can help the yanks get a backup catcher, depth in the rotation or depth for the bench and save some $$$.
ALso if I am correct the Yanks have many young, hard throwing relief pitchers in the minors that deserve a shot…….
Trade Farnsworth, call up Britton.
I don’t see how Farnsworth can help Phillie – or any other team right now – with his bloated salary, 5.12 ERA, 1.60 whip, 0 and 1 record and more walks than strikeouts this year. If Cashman can get some GM drunk, and trade Farnsworth for a bag of balls and some chocolate, I’d kiss him on the mouth. Let’s get Britton up here.
Hopefully last night’s win and the series win will give the yankees some confidence. They have a tough series coming up this weekend esp. with Escobar and Lackey going for the Angels. Gotta keep it going if your the yankees. Should be a good weekend of baseball.
Farnsworth needs to………..nevermind
Peter,
No need to worry about Tony Montana. It’s Bud Selig and the Commissioner’s Office we should fear. Cross them and they’ll have your name in the paper tomorrow. They can get anyone at anytime.
Giddy today?
So is this finally the day that the Yankees begin there turnaround and win 70% of their remaining games, hoping that Boston plays .500 or worse during that time so they can win the AL East again?
I figured I’d take the pulse since after beating the Sox in the 1st game of the series, it was SWEEP time baby, and the momentum was just too great for the Yankees at that moment and they were going to use that 1st game to propel themselves upward and onward!!
Then, of course, Tavarez stepped in and ended that little dream.
But now, NOW, it’s baaaack…that feeling that they are going to do it…they are going to make what we shall now call, “The Run”….you can feel it in the air…sense it in the stadium…see it in the way they look now…they’ve got that killer instinct back.
Damon is not washed up and slower as has been said. Arod is really really good. Pettite is Cy Young, and Torre, well, Torre is now a genious again.
All of this sound familiar? Yeah, it should…After the red hot Angels come in with their best 3 pitchers this weekend, there will be more screaming and shouting and complaining.
Oh, and then, Roger will ride in and he’ll resc…….well, maybe not.
Have you seen who the Phillies have in the bullpen they currently have constructed? Brett Myers was all that was left… without him, their bullpen has absolutely no chance.
they’ve gotten a little hot as of late, and if they dont make any move at all, there is not a chance they can keep pace with NY or Atlanta, or even Florida for that matter.
I know we’ll get a bag of balls for him, but I’d rather not see him on that mound wearing our uniform anymore.
TurnTwo,
I hope you’re right. I couldn’t be happier. (well, unless they threw Viz into the deal too!)
There might be more merit to trading Farns to Phillie considering their in the NL vs the AL so his bloated ERA might be considered with a little salt. With Myers down, and Gordon on the DL, he might seem awfully tempting – especially compared to Percival who had career ending elbow problems. What Phillie has that’s worth trading for (other than Utley) is pretty not appealing. I don’t think Phillie has any current position players/pitchers or even prospects that are worth much… but then again, considering we’re trading Farnsworth, it might just be worth it to get him off the books.
get one of phillies catchers and some minor leaguers or bourne there backup of OF and Ruiz the catcher.
farnsworth is fixable, and has done well at times over his career. farnsworth only has a contract thru 2008..
I like the idea of getting rid of Farnsworh, and I’m sure there are more teams than just Phillie that might be interested. There’s always someone who believes they can turn a guy around, plus a move to the NL couldn’t hurt either.
I wonder if anybody else caught Gammons comment last night. Now, I think Gammons is great. Super knowledgable, knows the game…but I could swear when they were talking about Clemens he alluded to the Yankees chasing the wildcard. Just the wildcard, he appears to have completely written them off regarding the division. It just didn’t seem very Gammons like, that’s why I’m seeing if anyone else caught that.
Hey albanyyankeefan3,
Kruk and the truth hurts? Doesn’t it!
and just remember: He’s played real-life baseball and not just sits in his mother’s basement all day on this stupid blog, blogging and dream’in about the past. A past you probably didn’t even see. You probably started watching baseball right around 1995, got spoiled and now can’t deal with a losing Yankees team. Hey buddy, the world don’t work that way! You haven’t won anything the past 7 years and it will probably be another 7 before you get to another World Series. The days of over-spending everybody else and running away with it are over! The Evil Empire is no longer an Empire! You’re just a regular middle-of-the-road baseball team like Kansas City and Tampa Bay!
Pete, the first reply to Shillings post last night on 38pitches about the game is priceless.
healthbetold
Way to be older and crappier then Mussina was last night
‘Nuff said.
Spat010:
Cancel the season! You have shamed us all with your piercing insights and most excellent baseball knowledge. How can we go on? That’s it, we give up! You win! Boston is the 2007 World Series Champion and you win the spelling bee, you “genious.”
Before everyone starts writing Farnsworth on Phillies lineup cards – if *you* were the GM of the Phillies, what would you give for him? It’s not like we’re in the best position to unload him. He’s been inflammatory in the clubhouse (Clemens comments), not so reliable in relief, proven unavailable for consecutive days, history of back problems, and has control problems.
Not much if it were me, and I’d make the Yanks pay most of his salary and give up B level prospects at best.
Pete, any idea how to buy one of those Yankee hats with the VT logo on it?
As for Annie and the other Trolls, don’t go away mad, just go away. (I know we should ignore the trolls, but if ignorance is bliss you folks must be the happiest people in the universe).
Kid Yanks:
Why don’t you run along like a good little troll and finish shaving your mother’s back.
Hey Spat010,
You’ll feel that way everyday until the end of August and their 20 games out and then you’ll finally realize at 60-60 that….gee? maybe that streak isn’t going to happen this year!
Better luck next year. As far as I’m concerned: It’s a one horse race to September!
All of th people here who think the experts/analyst are out to get the Yankees are little ******, I mean grow up! Kruck said Rocket was not ready big deal its one mans opinions I honestly dont understand how people get so bent out of shape over people’s educated guess on baseball. Not everything Yankee is going to be positive if you want that go to YANKEES.COM. By the way when we are playing well ESPN does nothing but talk how good we are and all the other fans from other teams get all pissy, ESPN, experts/analyst can never win because most fans are blazing morons!
Fans and ESPN are funny. Yankees fans think ESPN is biased to the Red Sox. Red Sox fans think ESPN is biased to the Yankees.
All other fans think ESPS is biased to the Yankees AND Red Sox.
If Clippard shows signs of more briliance in his start against the Angels (at least a quality start), it may allow Clemens to opt for another start in AAA before making his debut in the majors. Other than that benefit, I’m hoping that a great Clippard outing on Friday starts to cement him as a potential full time starter in our rotation. Which would go a long way to give this team the solid foundation it needs for a comeback.
MurphDork
Jack Niciolson said it best in “A Few Good Men”:
You can’t handle the truth!
Dream your little Dream! and I’m at work making money unlike you sitting in your Mother’s basement waiting for her to make you your peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunchy.
I’m just yank’in your chain!!! Lighten up. I know it’s going to be a long, long summer dwelling in and around the cellar of the America League East with Tampa Bay, but you just have to grow up and accept it. You’re just not that good. Your sub .500 record proves it. I know, I know: “We shouldn’t have lost that one and he isn’t doing good and he should have been called out at second”. I know, you always have a good excuse on why your team sucks, but really just look at your record and dream of maybe someday this year getting to .500!
That’s all you should be worrying about at this point. Then when you get there and you can stay there for a few weeks you can then see how far Cleveland and Chicago are ahead of you for the wildcard and then you’ll finally realize that it’s over this year for you! What will you do? what will you do????? Don’t even think your going to catch the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL (That’s a 31-15 record, see I backed that up with a good stat. It’s called the BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL!!!!)!!! This isn’t 1978. It’s 2007 and last time I checked we have won the last World Series between the 2 teams. And that’s all that matters. Not the 26 that you won before you were born. Nobody from those teams are playing for your team accept for Posada (old), Jeter (old) and Rivera (really old and done)!
Your mother just called you from upstairs…your lunch is ready!
“Fans and ESPN are funny. Yankees fans think ESPN is biased to the Red Sox. Red Sox fans think ESPN is biased to the Yankees.

lol…..The sad thing is that these morons dont realize how childish and dumb they sound….Once people believe something they find anything to back up there misconception and perception. So ESPN can say 5 good things and 1 bad about the Yankees and the kooks will talk about the the 1 bad they said which is probably true to begin with.

the Farnsworth ineefective in back to backs is a fallacy. I have seen more then one person show the stats and they are not bad.
Yes farnsworth has been innefective mostly for us but he is talented and over the years has had stretches of succes; atl and Detroit he generally speaking pitched very well. and many teams think they can turn people around with talent.
his #’s last yr were not terrible by any stretch, is he better then Brendan Donnely? Jose Mesa, Geary or Cordury, and about 60 % of the relief pitchers if not in MLB.
He just did not work out here. Also his contract is not exactly Moose or Giambi like either….
He would be a good trade for philly, AZ, SF, and many other teams…
Marius the Epstein lover trading SHoppach to Cleveland was another theo brilliant move.. If I am not mistken SHoppach wimm probably play 1/2 the games at catcher for a pretty damn good team and he is 27 yrs old…I forgot Epstein does not make mistakes I call his mistakes Clements because they are easily forgotten. I forgot Lugo is excelling at SS.. The yankee fans would love to have an avg. fielding 240 hitting SS anytime……………..
Perception is reality but it really is not reality….
Murphydog,
I appreciate your sense of humor. You gotta be from the Bronx… But please don’t speak to the enemy. People from the Bronx are tough. Those people are just mean and hateful…

Clippard’s effectiveness tomorrow night will have no bearing on Clemens, because Clippard stays in the rotation until Hughes gets back anyway. If Clemens wants another minor league start, that’s fine with me, I’ll take my chances with DeSalvo in Canada and bring back Roger in Boston on Sat June 2nd. Hopefully that won’t mess up Moose too much.
Hey Peter (or anyone)…First time poster, do you know where I might be able to get one of the Yankee Hats (with the vt logo) that they wore last night? I’ve checked all the usual sports so far (ebay, etc). Thanks.
Completely off topic, but does anyone know if they’re planning on promoting Ian Kennedy to double A? In 8 starts with class A Tampa he’s 5-1 with a 1.24 ERA. He has 56 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched.
I was listening to Espn Radip Stephen A. Smith Says Roger is garbage and He’s not ready..
He’s killing on Giambi on the radio using greenies… While He support Barry Bonds….. I wonder why..
Screamin A Smith is a jackass.
Hey I never knew I was from Rockland Country! Cool!
Two notes:
-The Red Sox are set to have the same rotation for the June series at Fenway: Knuckles-Freddy-Fudgie the Whale. Good to see. We’ll hit Freddy eventually.
-I wouldn’t want to be one of C.B. Bucknor’s kids when they argue about who has to take out the garbage. He definitely did not like the rookie Pedroia arguing with the strike 2 call in the ninth. The fact that Lugo also K’ed looking and then Crisp had to be run up on the check swing was priceless. Best ump moment since Ron Luciano was out there.
If folks are looking to Steven A. Smith for substantive baseball analysis, they must be also taking driving lessons from Stevie Wonder.
This is the same guy who called Phil Hughes “gutless” for not “toughening it out” and staying in the game when he got hurt in Arlington.
The man is a moron. Ignore him.
“This is the same guy who called Phil Hughes “gutlessâ€? for not “toughening it outâ€? and staying in the game when he got hurt in Arlington.
The man is a moron. Ignore him.”
He did what? Wow just when I thought he couldn’t possibly be a bigger idiot. I am stunned.
Jake-
LOL! Yes, the reporters on ESPN are supposed to be OBJECTIVE. They aren’t supposed to show a bias towards one team, or the other… so don’t you be naive.
Sure, they all have favorite teams growing up… For instance, Joe Buck. His father was a Cardinal, and so was he… oh yeah, now he’s a Red Sox fan… How convenient. (Sorry, I’m supposed to be talking of the biased ESPN commentators)
Their job is to be objective, so I’m not too sure where you get the idea that it shouldn’t matter if they are biased or not. The only time they really don’t have to be objective (but the classy ones still are) is when they are commentating for a home station, like YES, NESN, FSN, etc.
Annie Savoy is an obvious troll guys. She constantly drops single moronic comments then never comes back to discuss them or defend herself (or himself….).
Jason Giambi is no more the “face and voice of the franchise” than I am.
I don’t care what women’s diet he went on – he’s still a fatso. Hey Kruky, wanna lose some weight? Get your lazy arse off the couch and do something.
Its facinating to me how this guy keeps his job with BBTN. He’s an idiot. OK John, lets pronounce the division race over in May – Red Sox over the Yankees.
Kruk’s not alone, but how many baseball ‘analysts’ are singing that tune? Not many. Lets see… Bill Simmons and John Kruk… Oh and Big Papi. That’s quite a brain trust. Even yellow dog johnny Red Sox fan Pete Gammons is issuing caution saying don’t print the tickets yet. The Yankees shouldn’t be counted out of the division race. There’s no discounting the advantage Boston has, but there are definitely kinks in their armor. Meanwhile, Yankee pitching is starting to assert itself and I think the team is a little excited about their young guys – Hughes and Clippard. Maybe not so much Clippard (although its possible), but before its over this year Hughes will make his presence felt. Andy and Wang pitched great in this series – the Rocket’s coming back.
There’s plenty of season left, my boys, for anything to happen. So don’t count your chickens Fatso.
Every year ESPN declares the Yankees’ season over at some point during the season.
It’s not worth expending energy over.
“My wife says I’m not as disgusting to her as I used to be!”
-John Kruk 2006
don’t you love it when red sox trolls use the word “genious ” ?
“Hey Peter (or anyone)…First time poster, do you know where I might be able to get one of the Yankee Hats (with the vt logo) that they wore last night? I’ve checked all the usual sports so far (ebay, etc). Thanks.”
My guess is you won’t be able to find one. You have a better chance buying a Yankee cap, VT patch, and sewing it on yourself
gr, Andy and Wang didn’t pitch great, even though the did get great results. I’ll take it, but they weren’t even at their best, which is actually a good sign.. They were both able to fight through it and get big wins. We need MUCH more of that. This race is far from over.
Making the playoffs at this point won’t be easy, but it is possible. I just hope we don’t run out of gas immediately after making it, like in ’05. Hopefully with guys like Clemens and Hughes coming in mid-season will help prevent that, but we need the offense to keep it moving too.
Todd Drew:
You could say that the Bronx is home to me. The smell of the Monkey House at the Zoo in August, ear infections from swimming at Orchard Beach, going to the the Big Park on the #4 train, watching Webster Avenue burn, dining on Arthur Avenue and wondering why people go to Little Italy, being in the neighborhood when Stella D’Oro is baking cookies, knowing Jenifer Lopez didn’t come from quite as bad a neighborhood as she pretends…
I realize that feeding trolls is not the approved method of extermination. Sometimes, however, the temptation is a little too strong. But I’ll try to curb my appetite in the future.
Vet nice blog, by the way.
Todd:
That’s “very nice blog,” not “Vet”
murphydog-
for a peace loving guy , you sure like going after those red sox trolls sometimes. i’m always amused when you do it because it’s a bit out of character. i agree it is a good way to get out some frustrations.
Murphydog, you live in a great neighborhood.
randy1:
Just keeping in shape. To me, it’s like playing “whack-a-mole.”
There are some respectable Sox fans stopping by once in a while, and they are always welcome. But the ones who pop in, write something foolish and then either get obscene or start impersonating, they gotta go. Do we really want those drooling, drunken, in-bred, hairy-handed, vomit-stained, pizza-slinging vermin getting too comfortable here?
But Todd is right. Don’t feed the trolls. I’ll try to be better.
“Annie Savoy is an obvious troll guys. She constantly drops single moronic comments then never comes back to discuss them or defend herself (or himself….).”
I wonder if she’s for real sometimes, but i think she is.
I noticed when someone posted a link to lohud’s met’s blog’s “Why do you hate the Yankees?” post, she was one of the first to respond that she likes both teams…
“Sure, they all have favorite teams growing up… For instance, Joe Buck. His father was a Cardinal, and so was he… oh yeah, now he’s a Red Sox fan… How convenient. (Sorry, I’m supposed to be talking of the biased ESPN commentators)”
Joe Buck = Worst announcer ever….
I hate him more than any of the espn guys, by a long shot.
Just my luck he’s the announcer for both of my favorite teams.
when they’re on FOX of course…
Todd:
I used to live in a great neighborhood. I moved north a while back. Still visit though.
hey pete, any word on the guy who fell trying to catch the fowl ball in the upper deck last night? i was a few sections away and was a bit concerned since he was taken out by EMS strapped to the board (and that he had tumbled down at least 6 rows and hit the bottom of the section)
oops, foul, not fowl, guess i’m a bit hungry here.
Hate to burst all youz Yanker fans!
Mike Freeman over at CBS Sportline writing the following today:
“And boy does this pain me to state because I am afraid of sending obnoxious, e-mailing Red Sox fans into an orgasmic, alcohol fueled frenzy. But here it goes.
The Red Sox are the best team in baseball and World Series bound. If they do not get there it would be a tremendous shock. That’s how good they are. Their getting dominated at the hands of the Yankees in this three-game series means absolutely nothing.”
No obnoxious emails here from Sox fans to send. The man speaks the truth! You should all take a dose of his medicine and come back down to Earth. You won your game last night. Your World Series is over!
Beckett/Clemens on the 3rd of June. What a nice way to welcome Roger back to the AL east with a loss and 15 games out!
God the truth hurts….doesn’t it?
Do you want Cookie Bubble Burster?
yes Redsox will win 120 games, win the al east, and world series.. Redsox are also World Series bound for 2007..
And of course 2008, 2009, 2010. Heck, give em the title for the rest of baseball history. We have no hope against them. Ever.
