In the Sunday Baseball Notes the question is what did Jason Giambi say that was so wrong?
A bad call by the umpire added to the frustration yesterday when the Yankees lost to the Angels.
Johnny Damon is out again. This notebook also has an undate on Phil Hughes, who has a sprained ankle and will be out “a little longer than a couple of days.” Then all he will have to worry about his is hamstring.
This from the L.A. Times: Orlando Cabrera doesn’t like you.

SWEEP!!!! SWEEP!!!!
Hi Pete –
I think the problem the average fan has with Giambi et al re: drugs is why are professional athletes treated differently than anyone else when they break the law? How can a ‘union’ protect them from the laws of the United States?
O. Cabrera needs to shut his yap. The fans don’t like him because he played with Boston. He gets the same treatment as Kevin Millar.
“They don’t appreciate good baseball,” he said. “They just appreciate the Yankees beating up on everybody.”
Cabrera is right. Welcome to fourth place, bitches.
