Clearly it’s Siren from “American Gladiators.”

With Marty Miller out, A-Rod needed a new strength coach. It’s all on the up-and-up.

There, glad I could clear it up.

  1. Yankee Fan in Boston

OK, I haven’t posted here in a while, but I had to after this. When I first saw the photo and the story, the first thing I said was “geez, she looks like an American Gladiator…”

I think that makes me pathetic.

  2. rbj

    LOL, Peter.
That look just doesn’t do it for me.

  3. TigersFan

going to a strip club with a woman who looks like she is a regular steroid user is “on the up and up”?

you know, if I was making $25 mill a year, I would keep the lowest profile in the world on these road trips…

  4. Reflaxion

He should’ve at least worn a hat or something.

  5. jk

    I smell a Pulitzer.

  6. Dr. Acula

    Pete,

here’s a link to crisper version of the post’s “cover”:http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a81/kos102/2007/Yankees/Other/NY_NYP.jpg

once there, just right click and save

  7. Super Duper Yankee Fan

I can’t believe we are being swept by the Jays. Of all the merciless tribulations of humanity, this is the cruelest one I’ve tasted.

(I’m assuming 0-5 Jays, with my eyes/or the wacko behind gameday playing tricks on me.)

  8. kenny lofton

So Peter makes two posts going on and on about how he is above the tabloids and what A-Rod does is his own business – then he puts the NY POST cover on his blog –

What a phony you are Abraham. My God, what a phony BS artist.

  9. Ricky Rios

any truth to the rumor that Piniella is getting “traded” back to the Yanks to manage?

  10. Wade Boggs

    Misty water colored memories… “Bwhahahahahhahahah”:http://www.sptimes.com/2005/07/28/Sports/She_s_been_his_closes.shtml

  11. Dr. Acula

kenny lofton- why are you here? find a different blog and buy a sense of snark.

  12. Strummerson

Sheesh, Kenny!!! Pete has a little fun with this and you call him a phony? You are about as dull and humorless as your namesake.

  13. li

So if you can make a joke out of it, Pete, then it is fair game for you to cover?

  14. Ricky Rios

who would name themselves kenny lofton? go back to those nazis at nomaas. I bet you come from there. all nomaas does is make fun of people. they are all rejects from nyyfans.

  15. Arodsfavoritestripclub

TMZ.com is reporting that Arod and this woman were clubbing in Vegas on May 13, too.

  16. Stuart

they should not warm up Vizciano. the yhave an off game Thursday. go with bruney, myers, farnsworth and mariano.

Mariano and farnsworth need to pitch regardless of what happens….

hughes news hurts a ton… know they have 1 of these c pitchers in the rotation all the time(clippard, etc.)..bad news for saving the pen..

  17. Stuart

1 more thing on Hughes. He hurt his ankle during agility training how does that prove Pete was right.
    ???

How can a guy sprain his ankle during drills? Unbelievable…

this hurts the yanks a ton…

  18. Peter Abraham

Kenny Lofton: Appropriate name, that’s all I can say. Thanks for reading, though.

  19. Arodsfavoritestripclub

TMZ.com is reporting that Arod and that blond bimbo were seen together in Las Vegas on May 13, and did the clubbing routine there.

  20. Ricky Rios

what’s wrong with Kenny Lofton? (the player, not the poster)
The player has had a great career and his teams almost always go to the playoffs…not this year of course,

anyway, do you have a game log Peter or a in game thread?

  21. Joeysdadjoe

    That woman scares me

  22. Dr. Acula

Arodsfavoritestripclub- if she’s a “bimbo” does that make ARod a “himbo” ??

Girlfriend or palimore is preferrable than loaded & sexist terms like bimbo or mistress. after all, married women also step out of their marriages, yet we have no derisive terms for male booty calls.

  23. Peter Abraham

Ricky Rios: The Game 51 post is the in-game thread

  24. Billy Mo

I am still trying to figure out why American Gladiators has not been put back on the air with new episodes. I watch it now on ESPN Classic and every time I do, I ask my friends why this show isn’t back on the air. Seriously, who else misses the Atlasphere and the Eliminator?

  25. Angel

What on earth is a palimore? lol

    Did you mean paramour? LOL

  26. Michael

    haha thats great peter

  27. Gary

I’m waiting for the story on newspaper columnists activities after work while on the road!

  28. Dr. Acula

    Peter,

you’ll love this, a comic on TMZ says the woman is actually Arod’s bodyguard

others think it Suzyn Waldman or Clemens/Steinbernner in drag.

And to think people were getting on Rocket for wanting to visit his kids.

  29. Joe_NH

Hey if this is what it takes to get the team winning I am all for A-Rod going to strip clubs with She-Men! He took the heat off the team for the moment.
Hey Alex I’ll pay for the first Lap Dance at 10’s in Boston each Night while your here this weekend…NOW SWEEP BOSTON!

  30. Dr. Acula

Angel- too funny, talk ’bout freudian, I combined palimony w amour.

Gary – here’s a recent story on the NY Post newsroom –> *scroll down to mid page*http://www.nypost.com/seven/05182007/gossip/pagesix/lies__smears_aimed_at_post_pagesix_.htm

  31. nathan

Pete… seriously… u are tripping urself.. how can u say 2 posts earlier that u dont chase such stupid stories and go back to the cover and make some ~masala~ out of it…

  32. Taylor

I always thought Kenny Lofton (the player) got a bad wrap here.

  33. Chris NY

Cano es en FUEGO!!!!!! Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come.

  34. Chris NY

Lofton whined like a baby because he hit like one and didn’t get the playing time he wanted. Not a bad rap, a deserved one.

  35. Stuart

Cano needs to hit 340% to be productive.. He does not walk at all. His 4th hit was a joke it was ball four at his eyes..

he cannot steal a base, and his defense can be very good but is innefective….

he needs to round out his game alot..

  36. sunny615

This is such a non story…

  37. who cares?

    Arodsfavoritestripclub:

If I recall correctly, May 13th was Mother’s day and they were in Seattle, then the 14th was an off day/traveling, then the 15th they were in Chicago to play the White Sox. That TMZ story smells like a bunch of crock.

  38. Stuart

torre haters come out now. I like the move.. does farnsworth stink or what? The guy is 31 and still does npt know how to use his incredible stuff, what a waste..

  39. bpib

Who Cares? is right the Yankees were in Seattle on the 13th of May.

  40. Jim Clark

Mr Abraham: if someone were to come to you with this picture, what would you do? Would you throw it away? Would you send it to your editor and have him/her make the decision whether to print it? What decision do you think they would make?

  41. Unionville, CT

I hope it’s a family member…this is such BS…Nobody should have that kind of crap posted on the cover of a paper…DAN MANGAN should be ashamed of himself for wrtiting this article…..BOYCOTT THE POST…

  42. Wagner-of-the-Finger

A-Rod gets the player of the game award for saying something

  43. MK

Looks like the Post cover really hurt A-Rod’s game tonight.

  44. Stuart

I will take a victory anyday. Do not laugh they need to play melky alot more.. he is by far there best fielding outfielder with by far the best arm. he is a switchhitter and is ver yactive out there…

I know he does not have the gaudy #’s but he is better then he has shown so far this year and I think he can be a minimum 280 hitter in time…..

tonight shows why Torre is so inconsistent in his pen choices.. the reason is they (the players) are so damn inconsistent. I will give Bruney a break because he has been by far there best reliever before the bomb to Satirs but Farnsworth is beyond belief. a 123 inning for Farnsworth is near impossible…..

  45. Super Duper Yankee Fan

Looks like Satan took the day off:
Mets lost, Tigers lost, Red Sox lost, and Yanks won.

  46. Offense??

They had a day game on the 13th and the next day was an off day. Typically during the off days the guys go home, so he could have just decided to chill in vegas since it is on the west coast, near the city they were playing in.

  47. who cares?

    Offense??:

Within 24 hours he went to LV from Seattle and then to Chicago? In between batting practice, traveling and all they do to prepare for a game?

    Yeah, still smells like crock.

  48. Stuart

great post super duper yankee fan… yea and the Yanks wil not lose Thursday also..

I will take anything positive at this time…

  49. Monster in Rockland

    Matsuzaka’s overrated?

Another bad outing for Dice-k. He gave up 6 runs tonight. What Matsuzaka excuse this time? Last time It was stomach flu.

  50. Monster in Rockland

I’m Glad Redsox lose tonight.. Redsox are disciples of Satan.. Satan went to Vacation .

  51. Not Kenny Lofton

    Hey Peter Abrahamass

You are a hypocrite or I should say hippocrite. You run your mouth on here about how you don’t get into players’ personal lives then you join in the circus. So get off your high horse -if one would let you cuz you’d probably strain its back.

You just don’t like that someone called you out as the phony you are.

“Kenny Lofton -Appropriate name, that’s all I can say.” Right. Why is it appropriate? Be an overgrown punk who can’t even come up with something better.

  52. Siren In The Top Picture-Craver

The woman in the top picture: MMMMM YUMMMY. Firm but still soft, shapely, and beautiful like a woman should be. Those jeans (moreover what’s in them) and that hair…

The woman in the bottom picture: OOF. A monster.

  53. YankeesLuv

Looking at the girls photo, her arms are huge like she might be on steroids, could it be that Alex was just walking Jason Giambi’s sister back to the hotel? ;)

  54. YANKEES WIN THEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN

I DON’T CARE SHE IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!!!!!

  55. Jimmy

Oh grow up. It’s a joke and it’s funny.

    Stop acting like a teenager.

  56. jj

I’m sure Minky is Pissed, after all, He is ARODS tight end!

  57. LindaLu

Wow. You impressed me with your initial comments about the “stry-rod” cover and story and now you are just another hypocrite.

  58. Coops2001

She does have big arms …. Hey, can she play first base? Perhaps help out in the bullpen? Can’t hurt.

  59. Jimmy

Well, at least they won ONE game – partially sealed up due to the fact A-Rod shouted something to that Jays infielder in that 9th inning pop-up… I have HD, and he definitely shouted something to the guy just before the ball dropped.

    Go Mets!!

  60. Yorkshire Escort

did anyone see the banners about this.
