Looking sharp, standing tall

The Yankees have to dress up a bit when they travel. Not suits necessarily, but decent.

Luis Vizcaino showed up today in black tuxedo pants, a bright blue shirt and a black tuxedo jacket.

There were stares all around. Finally Mike Myers spoke up.

“Luis, did you take a girl to her high school prom last night?,” he said.

Major laughs all around. The Yankees are a loose bunch these days. You should have heard the clubhouse when Shannon Stewart busted up 38pitches.com’s no-hitter. Cheers from the back of the room to the front.

Really? Im glad to see the players hate Schill and the Sox as much as we do.

  2. Joe from Long Island

That’s a great line from Myers.

It looks like there’s very little love lost between our guys and Schill.

A tuxedo!! LOL whats up with that! I always thought they had to wear suits and ties?

I was cheering along with them, I had it up on my computer at work, and with each passing inning, i was cursing more and more. LOL Good thing it got broken up, I don’t think I could stand to watch red light speak about it.

sure wish the Yanks had a pitcher that could win a low scoring game like this. there were plenty of games where the yanks couldn’t score many runs and a complete game shutout would have been a Godsend, but none of them were good enough to do it.

  5. Skippy

    Thank you, Shannon.

    No hitter for Moose tonight!

  6. Jeff G

the only thing better than a Yankee pitching a no-no is Schilling losing one with one out to go.

38 should have shut his mouth a decade ago.

  7. Yanksrool

Too bad they didnt lose, guess we are still 11 games behind
    :(

  8. Nic

Funny… seems like Myers has a neat personality.

That’s great about the cheers in the clubhouse… that tells me this team really doesn’t believe they are out of it…

  9. Rich

glad to see that the MFY show comtempt for an awesome personal accomplishment that has nothing to do with their team…. just like their sorry fans… karma is a b.i.t.c.h. fellas!

  10. Ghost

    So are you, Rich.

  11. Tom

What’s happening here? Three consecutive solid pitching performaces by Yanks starters???? ‘Bout time. Been a real frustrating year so far (of course) but our boys are def not out of it. They can’t stink much longer and Sox will come back to earth.

It would be great to catch both Detroit & Boston in September and Boston’s the team left out of the party in October.

  12. Tom

THAT would be karma wouldn’t it, Rich?

  13. Rich

karma would be for mo to get the loss…

  14. Josh

I gotta say, I laughed when 38 blew it, not because he’s on the Sox, but because he’s annoying as hell. I bet the Yankees who cheered felt the same.

  15. MK

Thanks for the karma boomerang, Red Sox Rich!

  16. YankeesLuv

I would have loved it if Sox lost but I saw the end of the game when they showed it on espn and bottom of 9th 2outs and Schilling wins the game but he loses his no no, hehe.
Funny line by Myers, lol. :)

  17. Mel Hall's Uppercut

The Yankees and their fans are so obsessed with the Red Sox.

  18. Shawn

Glad to see the Yankees are still a bunch of classy guys.

    What a joke.

  19. saucy

umm, Pete, so what was Vizciano’s answer?

(I’d have a ton more respect for the guy if it was “Yes”!)

  20. Pete

How does ‘class’ (or lack thereof) enter into it at all?

Bottom line – they’re rooting for the Red Sox to LOSE because it has a direct effect on the standings. The Red Sox can’t every well lose if one of their starters tosses a no-hitter.

    Get over it.

Hi, I’ve started a petition to tell Major League Baseball that a significant number of fans dislike interleague play and want it abolished.

Please visit Petition to End Interleague Play and read it. If you agree, please consider posting it on this blog.

    http://www.petitiononline.com/.....ition.html

Your fellow LoHud blogger John Delcos has posted it – perhaps you will, too.

I’m hoping to spread the word among serious baseball fans. I realize it may do very little, but I thought it was time we stop complaining to each other and tell management how we feel. Thanks!
